| Liberty Monday, May 2, 2011: 4:41 pm More from Liberty | Wow, can anyone find any truth these days? The people who hang with people who don't know, assumes everyone doesn't know and so, writes accordingly to their perceived audience. All anyone has to do is a little googling and reasearch to find the big oil companies profits a whopping 7-10 penny's on a gallon of gas. That's right 7-10 cents. The big state governments profits as much as 66 cents on each gallon. The big federal government profit profits 18.4 cents per gallon. The station make around 20 cents per gallon. The rest go's to cost. So the facts show that big oils isn't so big. In fact compared to the big government oil profits we couldn't even call it small oil. Now for the statement of you imply that opening up the Alaskan field would drastically reduce the price of fuel. That’s incorrect. Well that is exactly what makes the prices go up and down. It doesn't matter where it comes from but how much of it exist for sale at any one time on the market. Wiki supply and demand to understand economics of world trade. The more Alaska pumps out into the market the lower the price and the more tax sharing profits for the Alaskan people. Humm.. how do you say MUSHH. I don’t think the scripture was intended to justify the profits of major oil companies, the destruction of the environment, and the benefit of the Republican party. Don't be deceived by politics, the government is the majority owner partner in American and foreign oil companies who do business here owning over 78% of the oil profits and has full regulatory control over its operations. This is factual reality. I understand this is about politics and I suppose people will either vote for big government oil profits or small oil profits or more than likely who ever can spread the best lies around but the truth is the scripture were never meant to justify any politics but it does warn us to be on the outlook for deception which only comes straight from satan and those who he controls. Be on the Lookout, do your own homework ! Peace :) |

Talk about someone needing to "get a life", Liberty is a perfect example! Let some of enjoy this column without having to scroll through all of Liberty`s nonsense. |
| booger Monday, May 2, 2011: 10:03 pm More from booger | $4billion in profit for this quarter is an awful lot of pennies. |
| Liberty Tuesday, May 3, 2011: 12:01 am More from Liberty | I know that there are those more social government type who considers taxes the people's money. For those keep in mind. If an oil company that does all the research and work who also employees 100's of thousands of employees profits 4 billion from its efforts and then shares it with millions of its small owners like most teachers and union pension funds then how does that compare to all those citizen who profited 40 billion for doing nothing and employing nobody but are just pawns of socialist propaganda. Seems that a thinking man would cheer the oil companies on because the United States citizens will always make 10 time the profit that the oil companies earn for doing nothing. I would think this country needs that 160 billion a year revenue coming in. The less money the oil companies make the less the taxpayers get and the further our nation sinks into debt. So go for it oil companies we need the free money to stay afloat. And that's how it works. . |

Hey Hoos, I explained I know that there are those more social government type who considers taxes the people's money. For those keep in mind. If one considers the tax money taken from businesses the people's money then the people are getting filthy rich because they are profiting 10 time what the oil companies are. If one considers the tax money taken from businesses not the people's money but some tyrannical governments money then that tyrannical government is getting filth rich because they are profiting 10 time what the oil companies are. However one looks at it the oil companies are a small minority partner in the Big governments oil business. See my previous post for detail. Peace :) |
| A Hoosier Tuesday, May 3, 2011: 1:44 am More from A Hoosier | What about our overseas tax havens which allow our companies to shelter their profits resulting in reduced tax revenues? |
| Liberty Tuesday, May 3, 2011: 1:51 am More from Liberty | PS Also keep in mind the profit of the oil company is shared with millions of its owners like teacher union pension owners and anyone who owns stock in an oil company like mutual funds etc. As far as I know the government doesn't send tax dollars taken from business to our house holds but they keep it to spend on buying voting blocks to stay in office. Making the oil companies who pay taxes here one of the most patriotic and national sustaining industries owned by millions of fellow American there is. The provide the country with over 160 Billion dollars of year of profit for the country while only making 10% of that amount to split among their owners who provided all the work to earn it. Not to forget the oil companies employee 100,000 people at the same time and the government employeed none for its majority of the profit. Peace :) |

All I have listed is what the government and oil companies receive now. All the talk of tax havens are mostly political fiction because you can't hide money from stock holders and that where these numbers are publicly derived from. |
