I would like to extend a special, sincere congratulations to Doug Arthur in this election on coming out with the most votes! "Let the masses speak!!"

Thank you Mr. Bowlen for clarifying just how much the "local GOP party machine" remains neutral in partisan elections!

Congratulations to Mayor Deckard for winning the nomination for another term. My vote was 90% sold to him when he abstained from a vote during a GOP caucus in December. A shared opinion amongst acquaintances might I add. Mayor Deckard was not just the best choice in this election he was the only choice.

Please Mr. Buskirk place your political aspirations for the city of Martinsville out by the curb next to your campaign signs for trash pick up. I breathed a huge sigh of relief knowing that history wouldn't repeat itself...and the dark days of your tyrannical shadow looming over us perhaps might finally be at an end.

Voter turnout?? Disappointing at best; however, proud to see those who did their duty, fight the elements, and the majority seemed to have did their homework.

I am usually not the one to adopt a childish ha ha attitude but this occasion seems to beckon my self-indulgent sarcastic side...
There is probably a certain party chairman that is either short on hair, or partaking in the use of alcohol right now. :D

Hope you are well, Your double boo hiss was brought to my attention, and I purposely waited until after the election to respond. The reason I waited is because I didn't want to look as if I was running for votes in responding to you.
Those that defended me know me and know who and what I am and I appreciate their confidence in me.
Now to the double boo hiss, you were 100% correct in giving me the 'raspberries'. I took the Chamber questionnaire and a problem solving Q & A literally and in doing so my answer was inappropriate. After reading your comment I went back to the Chamber�s questions and realized they are wanting answers to these questions so the voters can see who this person is, what mindset they approach these problems with; to get to know the Candidate. Pretty simple...I missed the mark and I missed it completely. I owe you and all of the voters that don't know me an apology. I appreciate you honesty and stepping up to let me 'have it'. My only defense is I do make mistakes sometimes. I promise to do my best to improve. I hope you and all the rest of you, keep your elected officials on their toes. I am not ashamed to admit I learned a good lesson. It will only make me a better person.

Mr. Arthur. You are a fine servant leader and I respect your humble attitude. Most people would just hide when confronted or strike back out of denial or justification. Thank you for closing the loop in such an honest way.
