Say bless you, hold doors, act kindly, or else

I always do. Maybe you expected to much of the younger generation. Politeness still exsists for some. I get run over by grocery carts when riding the handicapped carts in Walmart. |

I always hold the door, for anyone, and if they pass without a polite acknowledgement, I take an admittedly guilty pleasure in telling them, pleasantly, "You're welcome". Sometimes it even jogs their memory and they'll offer a belated "thank you". |
| KennyD Wednesday, May 11, 2011: 7:54 pm More from KennyD | I value common courtesy. My personal problem is I am on a constant high in this life. I use humor every chance I get...some like it some don't. I don't meet a stranger. I don't feel disrespected when people don't reciprocate MY courtesy...however. I do get erked when I see teenage boys getting into the back of a van to play a video game while their mother loads the groceries! A full grown man..berating a teenage girl for not refilling his drink fast enough in a restaurant, or walking by an elderly person knowing they may need help I want to say... "Excuse me sir, I couldn't help but notice that you are a prime example of an %$!@ *%$# !@!$ is it genetic or did you achieve it with years of practice!" |

You are writing about people treating people with respect, but when you arn't treated the way YOU want to be treated, you take revenge? Wow is that a good example for others showing what you expect in life? How in the world is that helping?? Two wrongs don't make anything better. It souhds like a bitter existence. |
