They don't deserve to carry a label with evil connotations because of their membership in a teacher's union. I highly expect they represent a small portion of a significant size group of educators dedicated to the children they teach and the God they serve. |

I-12. Family Planning. The National Education Association supports family planning, including the right to reproductive freedom.(Abortions) The Association further urges the implementation of community-operated, school-based family planning clinics that will provide intensive counseling by trained personnel. Resolution B-7 calls for "acceptance" of "diversity," which is defined to include "sexual orientation." It also calls for "observances, programs, and curricula that accurately portray and recognize the roles, contributions, cultures, and history of these diverse groups and individuals." I-12. | nobodyimportant Monday, May 16, 2011: 2:07 pm More from nobodyimportant | I don't support homosexuality because it is against God's commands. I respect the rights of people to choose their sexual orientation (it is a choice). I pray for their repentance. But I also don't condemn organizations and have a single-issue litmus test to make the decision whether or not the organization is worthy. We live in an imperfect world. If we throw away all the good over a single issue of bad, we have nothing left. I don't support the NEA's position on diversity. It goes too far from my comfort level of respecting diversity. There is a great difference between respect and promotion. I suspect that few school districts implement such NEA-recommended programs and services. Then I also have to remember that a union is an association of individuals. I am quite confident that not every member agrees with all the resolutions passed at an annual national meeting. A corollary would be the relationship between an individual Republican (me) and a national party. I certainly don't agree with all of the positions adopted as part of the Republical party platform. But disassociate because of the differences? Doesn't make sense. I will find no party that mirrors my views 100%. There is good and evil in each of us and in every organization, because we are fallen people and when we band together, we can and do form fallible organizations. |
| Liberty Monday, May 16, 2011: 4:36 pm More from Liberty | “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ |
| Sunny Monday, May 16, 2011: 7:55 pm More from Sunny | Ah... Liberty, Fanaticism: A belief or behavior involving uncritical zeal, particularly for an extreme religious or political cause or in some cases sports. Winston Churchill once said "A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject". By either description the fanatic displays very strict standards and little tolerance for contrary ideas or opinions." I have also come to the conclusion when people repeat things over and over they may have a disorder in the possibilities of autism, O.C.D., or social anxiety problems...in my opinion. I am not sure if this is a applicable diagnosis for you, but the theory is sound. There have been many people in history with similar behavior. Examples: Adolf Hitler, Stalin, Chairman Mao While I don't equate them with you in action or personal belief, I certainly do in behavior and mannerisms. It seems that you debate this topic of unions, teachers, education and the like when there is at times...... No one debating you! At times you use Biblical scriptures out of context to enhance your own beliefs and opinions. There have been other fanatics that have done the same... (white supremacy groups, David Koresh, Harold Camping. The correlation is obvious. I am not sure of your political "victorious scenario" here. Idealistically you want the end of public education and unions in whole. Great! Then let that simply be your belief and talk about it when the occasion may call for it. An imposing, narcissist posture wins you no furtherance, only distance. So obviously I am not fond of you, or your consistent, unfailing rambling. Of course it's highly probable that you will rebuke with how I am attacking you, pick apart this post in quotes, come up with fresh new counter postings complete with rationale, and upon clicking the submit button feel a surge of adrenaline! It's only out of Morbid curiosity that I read some of your posts from time to time...I suppose people like you can keep life interesting. |
| Liberty Monday, May 16, 2011: 9:56 pm More from Liberty | Nice Job sunny on finding all those big words. I had to read real slow. Hey, I know you didn't really know Adolf Hitler, Stalin, Chairman Mao and your making up the stuff like you did just to josh me. That's pretty neat. I know you are coming out for your union and I admire that but I'm not sure what all the other stuff is suppose to mean or what you are asking. Are you saying you aren't fond of me because of my autism ? Please be my friend :) |
| Sunny Monday, May 16, 2011: 11:05 pm More from Sunny | To summarize briefly.... No liberty, bluntly explaining to you that you are a fanatic has no defensive means concerning union affairs. I don't possess disdain for anyone solely because of a clinical disorder. Quite simply, because you are what you are...a radical fanatic. Please note that I highlighted and made use of the word "Fanatic" many times in our correspondence. I strongly suspect that this confrontation of mine hasn't allowed you the possibility to even remotely consider. Therefore I shall cease. Good Night. |
| DANNY NEWMAN Monday, May 16, 2011: 11:20 pm More from DANNY NEWMAN | AGAIN,, as I,ve said in the past,,,, Why do people here even respond to any of Liberty,s comments???? Everyone needs to ignore it,, and let it talk to itself,, Like most of us on here have done!!! |
| Liberty Monday, May 16, 2011: 11:25 pm More from Liberty | Hey sunny, that's some really important sound talk. Not used to you using that kind of wording and stuff. I don't exactly know what you are trying to get across. Please write easier so I can understand why you approached me. I know it must be important because of them important words. Now what is it you want me to do ? Are you asking me to say some certain words for you ? And are you trying to say you aren't fond of me because I am a fanatic ? I know you don't understand what I am doing but that's ok. I still like you. Please be more simpler so I can help you. I know you said Good Night so I'll wait until morning. |
