Depending on homosexuals for reelection

I never believed he was a Muslim until now. Why else would he want to divide up Jerusalem and the Holy Land and incur God's wrath? |
| nobodyimportant Saturday, May 21, 2011: 7:38 am More from nobodyimportant | Every president in my memory has tried to broker a deal in the middle East with no success, and this one will be no different. And in context, it doesn't matter. The land promised the Hebrew nation by God is much much larger than the tiny part what is being discussed here, and considerably more land than the current boundaries of Israel. So whatever deal is cooked up, with whatever boundaries and concessions is just temporary and lacks any real significance to the final outcome. The best guide for determining its borders of the true Israel (the Promised Land) is to use the Euphrates River in the North, the River of Egypt (Wadi al Arish) in the South, the Mediterranean in the West and the Jordan River in the East. Israel has never had complete control over all of it. There’s no Scripture that promises Israel full control of their land prior to the 2nd Coming, but at that time they will receive it all. The United States has been an ally of Israel for decades since the administration of ole Harry S. But scripture tells us that we will turn our backs on Israel and join with the other nations of the world first in a treaty authored by the AntiChrist, then a treaty-breaking war to come against tiny Israel. Jesus intervenes and we are defeated. So folks, don't get all caught up in the angst over modern day peace brokering by whomever is in the oval office. President O'Bama isn't doing anything different than the last dozen or so Presidents. Be they Republican, Democrat, Christian, Jew, or Muslim, it is all useless and does not have importance except in the short run. We are not and should not be Israel's protector or even ally over their land squabbles. Scripture shows that God has a dispute with those who are involved in dividing up the land He promised to the Hebrew people. “In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land. So, whether we have a dog in the fight or stay completely out of it doesn't matter. We have already displeased God in our misguided efforts to carve out Israel's boundaries and we will be allies with even Muslim nations, coming against Israel. How can litle Israel survive a war with the rest of the world you say? The answer is simple. Jesus returns and with his voice turns that pending defeat into victory. I wish He would hurry. |
| Ratcatcher Saturday, May 21, 2011: 8:38 am More from Ratcatcher | NI - WELL SAID! My post was a knee jerk reaction to hearing the aweful news. Someday I would like to be able to go to Nazareth and Bethleham but if Obummer gets his way that will most likely not be possible. You are right in that the end result will be the same. I think He is coming soon. Not today like so many are saying, but soon. I believe this latest stunt by Obummer may have just speeded things up a bit, don't you? I will be asking for special prayers for Israel at church tomorrow and I encourage everyone else out there to do the same. Shalom. |
| nobodyimportant Saturday, May 21, 2011: 11:06 am More from nobodyimportant | Ratcatcher...interesting question as to whether or not what is happening will "speed up" things. It may sound convuluted, but I can make a case for doing dumb things to speed up the end is a good, not a bad thing. Hard to wrap your arms around that, right? Nobody but God himself knows the time and date of Jesus' return. Jesus knows now, because he has shed his earthly body and is now omnicient. When He was alive in a mortal body, He did not know the time and date of his return. In Matt. 24:35-37 Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone." So all the prognostications about the end of the world is just so much idle chatter. But it will happen when God is ready for it to happen. So, is there anything we can do to speed that up or slow it down? I don't have a clue. I rather suspect not. Now for the tough pill to swallow. We can spin ourselves silly bemoaning who are our leaders. I will not take the position that it doesn't matter, for it does matter by whom and how we are lead. BUT it does matter how we treat people who are chosen as leaders. There is scripture that really takes a lot oftime and research to understand. Then there is scripture that just can't be misunderstood, and the scripture that applies here is in Romans 13. "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves." The catch in that scripture is the meaning of the word "rebel". Keep in mind that when Paul penned these words, the "authority" was Rome, the most corrupt government imaginable (among other things, abortion on demand). Paul was saying to his readers and to us, that those who resist the power and authority of govenment leaders rebel agains God almighty. How does that play out? Is speaking ill of the President rebelling? My answer is, depends. If the issue is in direct conflict with God's laws and commands, then my position is that we must place His authority above that of govenment. I submit that we can be law-abiding while exercising our civil rights to speak in opposition. But when the speaking out becomes demeaning and degrading, I think that slips over into a willful act of rebelling. Advice to Christians, speak truth in love. |
| Ratcatcher Saturday, May 21, 2011: 12:04 pm More from Ratcatcher | Nice discussion, NI. You make good points I am still pondering. I believe the timeclock to the end began ticking faster the day Israel became a country in a day. "And that generation shall not pass away before..." Luke 21. Can we as humans do anything to make His return come faster? I guess in all reality, no. Maybe it just seems that way because we are getting closer to the end. Like the birthpains of a woman the signs will get stronger and more frequent. Maybe that is what we are seeing now. I guess I should just be content in knowing that it won't be much longer until I will be able to see the New Jerusalem and the New Israel. Just thinking about it makes me not care nearly as much about seeing some of those places as they are today. Thank you for making me think about it from that perspective. I guess I probably shouldn't refer to our President as Obummer and that was one of your points. I will have to get back with you on that one. On a side note are you aware that shortly after the last election a restaurant was opened up in the old city of Jerusalem called Obama Pizza? It has since gone out of business. What does this mean? Maybe nothing but I would like to think it is an omen of better things to come for the leadership of this country. My biggest rebellion against our government (before this latest Israel thing) has been the abortion issue. I understand abortions are currently legal in this country and probably always will be. I would never stand in front of a clinic and prevent a woman from having a legal procedure done. She can kill as many babies as she wants. She doesn't have to answer to me but to God. However, I think it is absolutely disgusting that our government takes MY money by way of taxes and funds this activity WITHOUT my permission. I think the people that want to support places that do abortions should make an extra donation every year on their tax form like we have the option to do for the DNR here in Indiana. And those are my thoughts. Nice chatting with you in a respectful, adult manner about these touchy subjects. Have a nice day. |
| nobodyimportant Saturday, May 21, 2011: 10:37 pm More from nobodyimportant | It is nice to engage in conversation without feeling put down and not credible. If you look hard enough at the positions of political parties, you will find something both to love and hate. For some people, their views on a single issue are so overwhelmingly strong that they will willingly accept a host of things they don't like as "bitter pills". It is that way with me. I was so disenchanted with my party (Republican) that I crossed over on the last election and voted for O'Bama. For me, it was all about health care. I had watched people I love become financially devastated because of the costs of health care. I saw how businesses in dealing with shrinking revenues hung the workers out to dry with devastating decisions on health insurance costs and coverage. I pleadede with my party to take on the issue and provide some leadership. But my party did nothing. Zero. Nada! At least O'Bama was addressing the issue and willing to step into that quagmire that everyone else was stepping around. I don't like most of the national Democratic party platform. Certainly, abortion is high on that do not like list. But I was consumed with the heath care issue. Even here on this blog, I defended the proposals that were put on the table and took a lot of heat for it. I listened to the scripted attacks on aspects of the health care legislation. I shreeked in particular at the totally untrue and mob-inciting attacks on things like end of life medical planning. I tootk the time to read the legislation in detail, making sure I wasn't being duped. The "kill O'bama-Care campaign will probably work. It isn't a perfect plan, but it was movement in the right direction. It probably will be deep sixed. And the shame of it is that the Republicans will tinker with health care legislation, but in the end, it will not change substantially what is happening to people. My party's proposals, unless they are scrapped and re-done, will do virtually nothing about the cost of health care and the fact that in spite of pouring not only government's money (ours through taxes)but our personal assets into it, we will be left with the same bloated care system that is becoming so expensive (and without much to show for it in terms of our health) that people will die in increasing numbers and the number of people filing for bankruptcy because of a medical catastrophe will mushroom. I'm sorry for going on so long. As you can tell, I think it is an issue that cries out for real legislation and action. The Tea Party isn't a serious movement to a third political party. It is about pressuring the Republican Party to pay more attention to its conservative base. It will have some minor success, but it will likely falter. If the conservative base moves to the Tea Party in sufficient numbers, the Republican Party will become a second liberal party. The Tea Party is the best thing that has happened to the Democrats and their positions on many major issues in over 100 years. The libertarian Party has too much baggage with their "anything goes" ideology and can't elect candidates in any number. So, where does that lead us? In full circle with the same dilemnas. As we are inperfect, so are the organizations we create. |

| bob searcy Tuesday, May 24, 2011: 7:16 pm More from bob searcy | if obama is reelected it will be because he has a huge following of non believers who very much appreciates his fortitude where the land thieving , murderous israel government is concerned. the gaza strip is a concentration camp where little sustanence is permitted in and even less trade permitted out. it is economic oppression if not genocide. blither on right wingers but europe will be joining obama in a 2 state requirement that will entail pre 1967 lines.. |
| bob searcy Tuesday, May 24, 2011: 7:34 pm More from bob searcy | i dont consider homosexuality to be normal nor do i care to be around them but in the land of the free it is not up to me to make others bend to my will. big church with its big money is forever trying to influence governments. ya know why the middle east is in a state of revolt? its cause a younger generation has determined that their religion is ignorant and they want to be free from it.. peace could happen as the extremists diminish in number.. |
| jdigger Wednesday, May 25, 2011: 12:49 am More from jdigger | Dear Bob I agree I really cant understand why we bend over backword for Israel |
| Ratcatcher Wednesday, May 25, 2011: 7:08 am More from Ratcatcher |
You consider what Obama did last week to be "bending over backwards for Israel"?! Are you serious?! Israel is our ally just like England. It is a Jewish/Christian state in an area surrounded by Muslim extremist countries and terrorist groups (Iran, Syria, Hamas, etc) that are NOT our friends. From a purely military and strategic point of view we need to remain friendly with them. Mr. Searcy you need to re-read your history books. Calling the people of Israel murderers and land thieves is absolutely ridiculous and shows your ignorance of the subject. How many times in history has that land been taken away from them by different empires? Also I believe Hitler alone killed more jews than the modern day Isreali army has killed defending it's people and borders. If the Palestinians don't like the living conditions in the Gaza strip then they should MOVE. There are plenty of Muslin countries in the area that they could go to. As a side note can you tell me how many Indians our government killed when we stole their land to make this country of ours? Also do you know how many Indian Reservations or should I say "concentration camps", this country of ours operates? Have you ever been to one? And I don't mean the front gate/visitor center area. I mean way back into the real part of the reservation that most of the public doesn't get to see. You would be enlightened and sickened. |
| A Hoosier Wednesday, May 25, 2011: 11:25 am More from A Hoosier | Israel will not have a friend on earth when the U$ ceases to support them. Israel should do unto others as they would have done unto them. |
