Whoever determined that this was necessary before reconstruction of the Ohio St./S.R. 37 intersection seriously needs their brain checked!

As one who uses Ohio street, I am thankful that they are not waiting for the interstate intersection to be constructed. Care to make a guess how long that might be? A year? 3 years? 5 years? 10 years? Never? (just kidding with never). Besides, the portion that might be impacted by the interchange could be no more than a short portion nearest what is now 37. Paving north of what is now the entrance to the shopping center will not likely be compromised by the interchange. Just pointing out the other side of the coin.

All I can say is.....its about time!!! They spent all kinds of money paving side streets last year when one drive down ohio street will knock a persons car out of alignment and cost them $50 to get it realigned!! This may be a pain for a few weeks but a pain that I am more than excited to deal with considering the end results!!

Acer. The current plan shows interchanges at Ohio Street and 252. The street work discussed in this article is not in the area of the interchange.

Acer, I am referring to the tier two plan developed for the I69 - Indiana project. You can see the maps at http://www.in.gov/indot/div/projects/i69/

Huh, It was my understanding that the tier 2 plan has yet to be completed.

Acer, you never know when those plans are "finished". That plan is current though. There is a lot going on with the construction in the southwest part of the state, all according to the Tier 2 design.
