Thank you Virginia. As a family member of Mike's-I have tried to keep my head cool and my comments very little. We are close to a conclusion in all of this mess. It is so sad to me how people can judge this and his parent(singular)-without actually being any sort of parent EVER. I know there has been some pretty critical language against my in-laws and as we all know: when you point a finger there are three pointing back at you. Some really severe comments from people who I know have no children of their own at all. Comparing my little brother-in-law to livestock is pretty disgusting. True Christians would never do such a thing. We are praying for a just outcome and a trial or judgement in juvenile court where this young kid belongs.

I disagree. Biologically fathering or birthing a baby does not make you a parent. Marrying a pregnant woman and having that child live in your house and call you daddy for 10 years should count for something. A woman who marries a man with a son from a previous marriage who takes off work to attend his counseling sessions and pays for him to attend private school for 5 years sounds like something a good step-PARENT would do. Especially when the boy's mother states that the step mom loves the boy more than his own father. If you also consider that same child still has contact with the ex-step-PARENT and does not speak to the biological parent because of his/her immoral deeds. So, I guess I agree with you that it is not wise to point fingers at someone and judge them when you only know half of the story.

And nobody on this comment board compared your brother-in-law to livestock. The thread refered to pet owners being responsible if their animal bites someone or destroys property so the question thrown out there for people to ponder was shouldn't the parents of a child be somewhat responsible for their actions? I understand you being quite sensitive about this issue but you took that comment out of context and read something into it that was not there intentionally or unintentionally. I am sorry if that hurt your feelings and I hope this clears things up. I will continue to keep you and your entire family in my prayers.
