| nobodyimportant Saturday, July 30, 2011: 9:14 pm More from nobodyimportant | Our government is paralyzed and unable to govern because of party politics gridlock. Every incumbent, regardless of party, ought to be sent home next election if there is not a bi-partisan agreement with a minimum of 75% voting for it. This would force both houses to come to the table in good faith. Cherry picking off a few members of the minority party and calling it bi-partisan is a disengenuous sham. Then, the republican and democrat caucuses should be disbanded. Why caucus? There is only one reason, and that is to pull the membership "in line" on issues. Have an independent thought or agree with the opposite party will get you shunned by the caucus and central party funding support for re-election withdrawn. Is this any way to govern? It is mob rule, rivaling street gangs. We need to start over. |

| Annie Sunday, July 31, 2011: 8:44 pm More from Annie | Top ten percent of earners paid 70 percent of federal income taxes. 49 percent of U.S. households paid no federal income tax. Current corporate tax rate is 35 percent. The economy would improve if the rate was lowered ( to 25 %). The "Tea" in Tea Party stands for "taxed enough already". Those in the Tea Party are taxpayers. I was unaware the American Dream was made possible by Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, student loans, and much more. |
| nobodyimportant Sunday, July 31, 2011: 9:43 pm More from nobodyimportant | Governing by itself is not a bad thing. Without governance, there would be anarchy. As in most things, it is people who mess things up through quests for power, wealth, and self-gratification. |
| Lassiter Sunday, July 31, 2011: 10:18 pm More from Lassiter | Hmmm The negatives on my comment must mean that we have readers here that would like for future generations to be enslaved by the Chinese. Interesting. |
