Martinsville and its football program and staff remind me so much of the movie Varsity Blues!

I am so glad for the kids! They should have up to date facilities! Talk about a waste of Tax Money! Look at Franklin, and Plainfield......Spend Millions on new School Bldgs, and have to close sections off in the Winter because they can't afford to heat the building! Franklin charges a fee for bus riders! Not just for sports, but for all bus transportation! Enough of the negative! Good for all sports! They all benefit from the entrance fee at the gate! Maybe the town should consider bringing in more tax dollars! Quit denying new business! Bring in new restaurants! Get out of the dark ages! Good luck to the Football Team! Hope you have a great season! Most of all.....Be proud of your new field!

Julie Crothers is working on a story that will detail the exact costs of the field with a breakdown of where the money went. That story should be ready for the Sunday newspaper.
