Dr. Boyer has been my primary physician for many years. She has never mentioned leaving Morgan Hospital or asked me to follow her. The letter sent by the hospital announcing her leaving gave a choice of 2 physicians who would take new patients. I would never willingly consult either one. I certainly will follow her wherever she goes to practice. Mr. Laux purposely made it difficult for Dr. Witham to remain in this community after 30 plus years of service to us. They lost a wonderful surgeon and did not seem to really care at the time. Morgan Hospital once had a good ER as well; not so much now. My mother waited to be seen with breathing difficulties for 4 hours before a physician even looked at her. The nurses and respiratory therapy did as much for her as they could. It was another 3 hours after the doctor saw her before her labs were back and she was admitted to the hospital at 3am. The new ER physician group is not as competent in my opinion with the exception of Dr. Eisenhut who stayed with the hospital. Since my mother is a nursing home patient, she has no choice but to accept a local doctor and the local ER. I however, may go where I choose, and I will.

WE took a parent to the ER some years ago, with a HEART ATTACK...and they told us to have seat and would be with us shortly! Now is that the way an ER operates???We walked out and went to St Francis where we should have went to begin with, and was treated immediately. I have told my spouse to NOT take me to the Morgan Band Aid Station....after this incident. Laux sold us up the creek while he pads his pocket Im sure. This whole article should never have come about if he hadnt been so greedy....

Liberty,
What are you talking about? The hospital isn't a government owned entity and it isn't run by a political party. Please explain.

No matter how you change the name it will always be the Laux Memorial Medical Center.

Liberty,

I wish that just one time you would know or understand what you are talking about. The hospital is a non for profit business and not government owned. It is now owned by I.U. Health which is also a non for profit business. The County Commissioners appoint members to the Board, and now I.U. appoints members to the Board.
