This is one of the sickest people that I think I've had the displeasure of reading about.

Making what could have been perceived as a one-time bad decision and shooting that boy is one thing, but in spite of all that has happened and time that has passed, this person still feels the way he does and wants to exact his revenge...this speaks to the core of this young man's personality. Looks like the justice got this one right. Add on these new charges and Michael is going to have a long, long time to think about his actions.

This teen is really a disturbed individual and a danger. He will find he is not so cool when he is sent to prison. His friends may decide going away for 30 years is not what they wanted and he was not cool after all. I hope the ones that were going to follow him will learn their lesson before it is too late and they end up behind bars too. Martinsville needs a scared straight program (if they do not have one) for some of these teens that show signs of trouble. A few hours in jail, following rules without their video games might set them on a different path.

In the very first post I made regarding this story I referred to this young man as evil. Unfortunately, he has only worked to confirm the suspicion. The number of people that he has hurt, his own family included, is astounding.

Prison will change his mind. He will be afforded many opportunities to better himself, finish his education, learn a skilled trade and make some lonely inmate a happy prisoner! Reap what you sow!

Is anyone else curious as to why these crazy butt murderer has a CELL PHONE in jail? For real?! Doesn't sound llike hard time to me. Sounds like a good deal. 3 hots and a cot...oh and cable, free fitness program, free cell service and don't have to work for any of it. Huh. Wonder what is wrong with our jail system. Need to make some changes.

Tarch - this is where he got the info from about the cell phone.. it is in the news report. go thru and read it. I posted for you to see part of it.

Using search warrants, investigators were able to get phone and text records and copies of letters that Phelps allegedly sent to someone while in jail. The contents of one of those letters led to Phelps pleading guilty to the attempted murder charge.
