Respect the high school’s ‘other’ sports

A school official ordered him out of the press box and my ears tell me the volume was increased from that point forward. Just so everyone knows, the soccer team is not allowed to announce their players or play the national anthem before the game if there is a football game next door. The reason? It would be too distracting to the football players. |

Just so you know, a couple of Saturdays ago there was a soccer game and a freshman football game going on and the National Anthem was played for the start of both contests. Were you at that game? You sound like you just want to keep the pot stirred instead of making it possible that everyone enjoy the facilities. I'm sure things will be worked out. |
| old timer Thursday, September 1, 2011: 8:47 pm More from old timer | The school board spends 60% plus of our local tax money. Why don't you spend it for whats needed instead of what you want? Only 13% of high schools have astro turf and the one's that have the most are the one's going broke. Our pockets are only so deep... |
| Blessed Friday, September 2, 2011: 3:29 pm More from Blessed | Old timer-----get with the times. I know when you were a boy "you had to walk miles to school"....It's not wrong to want a better life for our children..We have good schools, with up to date features, and good school personnel...I no longer have children in school, but don't think twice about providing up to date and better things for them. After all these are the children who will one day run this community. I am very very proud of our kids.... |
| Blue Martinsville Tuesday, September 6, 2011: 9:19 am More from Blue Martinsville | I was at the WMS game last Thursday. I thought it was very disrespectful for the announcer to play music while the Cheerleaders are preforming cheers and the pep band was playing. |
