My posting my opinion isn't what is making Dr. Polar "look bad" It's the "FACT" that he "FAILED" his board exam THREE times that makes him look bad. Just sayin... |
| nobodyimportant Sunday, August 28, 2011: 6:58 am More from nobodyimportant | Yeah. In Indiana, slander is harmful remarks that might injure a person’s reputation that are made verbally. Libel refers to similar remarks that are made in writing, pictures, etc. In both cases, the remarks must be false and the person who makes the oral or written remarks must know those remarks are untrue. Slander and libel cases are hard to win because of our rights of free speech. The bar has been set very high on these types of cases. I don't have a pony in this race. I don't know the doctor and don't have an opinion about him. Your original remark was the second in the past several weeks that suggested someone who posted something here could be sued for slander. I just wanted to clarify that such is not the case. |

You can work as a physician without passing the boards. He is being investigated because of something else. This is not Dr. Boyer's fault. It is Dr. Polar's fault. Maybe people should know what they are talking about before they accuse. |
| Auntie Thursday, September 1, 2011: 8:29 am More from Auntie | I know Dr. Polar personally. He is also my physician and the physician for my family and friends. He is a very good doctor. He is one of very few doctors that see patients who are in the hospital, he treats patients at several nursing homes and he volunteers his time at a free medical clinic. I'm not sure why he is being investigated but it is very unfortunate that he was thrown under the bus by a coworker (also a physician) publicly. |
| transplant1 Thursday, September 1, 2011: 2:40 pm More from transplant1 | My understanding is that Dr. Polar was being investigated long before Dr. Boyer decided to leave Morgan Hospital. Why do people want to blame this on Dr. Boyer? What does she have to do with Dr. Polar failing his boards three times and being investigated? Maybe one of the reasons she is leaving is because Tom Laux cannot seem to find competent physicians to practice at Morgan. Dr. Polar has been investigated before and whether of not he is a "nice guy" doesn't really matter. Just because someone is a "nice guy" does not mean they are competent. |
