I say the only difference between a local politician and a state or federal one is their location. You yourself have complained multiple times regarding Quyle and others in the Mooresville area. The difference is they don't respond. Besides, I believe it is good for our people to hear both sides of issues. Even if it takes awhile for those issues to be discussed. One thing people need to understand, I don't hate the mayor by any strech of the imagination. Onj a personal level I believe him to be a generally nice guy. On the political level, well, we obviously have differences with some things I believe he has done wrong and so on. Now, if a few people on here want to believe it's all hateful bashing for no reason, well they can stay inside their shallow little shells. As I said, the difference between a local politician and a state or federal one is location. It's easy to badger someone like Obama when he's 700 miles away, but how many of us actually care enough about our own local communities to hold our local politicians feet to the fire like we do someone like Obama. Very few. Why? Because we know them personally. And I will add this, whether it was Marty or Phil or anyone else, I have never made it personal. I've always kept it political. |

I'm thinking that if you want to finish off the last two nails in your "coffin" that you need only to start a feud with Mr. Downey and the chief of police. Yeah, that should just about finish you off around these parts. But like I suggested in my last post...I think you should consider getting a puppy instead. Or even better yet why don't you pick a candidate or two (Pence, Wallace, Luger, Mourdock, Perry, Cain, Bachman, etc.) and SUPPORT and PROMOTE him or her instead of spending energy bashing the ones you dislike? Don't get me wrong, I do my fair share of criticizing Quyle and Obummer but I have spent a lot more time campaigning for the candidates of my choice in recent years. Get my point? I understand you want to focus on the local political scene and I admire that but you have tried multiple times to run for office and affect change in your own backyard and it hasn't worked. Maybe it is time for you to turn your attention to the state or national level and stop spinning your wheels on the local front. I'm just saying that I think you would get more personal satisfaction and appreciation for your efforts. Regardless, I wish you luck. |
