Here's what I saw in that game last night.

In the first half I saw only two of the players that looked like they were there to play. 45 and 4. What I also saw, and so did everyone else was the refs clearly leaning in favor of Bloomington on several occasions. From not starting the play clock immediately when Bloomington was on offense while doing so when Martinsville was. To not calling obvious penalties to moving the ball from where it was downed in favor of Bloomington and against Martinsville. To adding play time to the game clock near the end of the first half thus allowing Bloomington the needed extra time to score their third TD.

Others saw Martinsvilles receivers being afraid of getting hit instead of blocking properly or watching the ball when it was passed to them thus dropping the majority of passes.

Even the first drive of the second half looked as bad as the entire first half.

Personally, I would have sat every starter with the exception of 45 and 4 in the first half for a lack of willingness to put forth a 110% effort. If the boys are not willing to put in the effort to win a game, then they don't need to be starters.

Yes, they did start playing on the second drive of the second half, but that is still no excuse for their poor performance in the first half. In other words, I don't believe that they wanted to win that game.

#93 Shields was impressive. He can punish running backs .

Happy to see the boys responded with a second half. Hate to lose to Bloomington, but from what I read these are two teams the Artesians can beat.

Boys you are so close. Go out and execute from the opening kick-off next week and you will be fine.

I fully agree with Danny Stewart. While many of the boys did some things well sometimes; 4 and 45 clearly were consistent and clearly wanted a win. Shields was amazing!

I am excited to watch all of the boys every Friday night and I look forward to watching them win the next game and continue on a winning streak!!!

Come on boys......you are an awesome group!!! Let's get a win!!!
