Mayor Deckard won at the city hall meeting but he got his butt kicked in the papers. Danny has nothing to do with this election except report how he feels, and I'll give him credit for being blunt and "fearless to almighty mayor Deckard"

OK kids, time for a pop quiz! :)

1. Is the Mayor going overboard with the secrecy thing?

2. Should the public be protected from seeing documents that will upset or confuse them?

3. Should all daycares be moved away from residential areas?

4. Is backpedaling a real sport?

I'd be willing to bet that we won't see this again until after the November election.

Now, anybody with two brain cells could have seen that this thing was going to be pulled. There was simply too much outcry about it. However, let's look a little deeper into it.

I say that the mayor was acting so arrogant that he believed that since he won the primary that he could do whatever he wanted and that there would be little to no complaining about it. keep in mind, he has mentioned about changing it so as to not effect non-profits and churches and the paper boy. Well, let's see. I noticed he hasn;t backed off of wanting to charge a fee to have a business in town.

Now, he says it's for the safety of our residents. Is it? If a business is dealing with hazardous materials, then I would agree. Haz mats can be dangerous if not handle properly. However, bothe the state and federal governments already regulate and have safety measures in place on how to deal with haz mats. So it would be redundent to place those regulations at the local level. Still, there is nothing wrong with knowing who is dealing with haz mats over the standard 1000 pounds. !000 pounds is the benchmark for most companies to be required to register the use of those materials. Anything less is usually not required to do so, though there are exceptions.

Any other requirement to register and pay a fee is socialistic in nature. Meaning, if a company is not dealing with haz mats, then it is simply more government red tape and regulation.

I say this measure is nothing more than just another tax. He's already proclaimed that he won't raise taxes on the residents so he's going after the businesses which will in turn pass that added cost down to their customers which means that it's a tax on residents by proxy.

I also say it's about arrogance and control. He gives the impression that he has to control everything that goes on in town.

Like I said, we likely will not see this again until after November if he does win then. After that time he will be secure in his ability to do as he wishes with no threat of being voted out. Therefore likely won't care what anybody says about it.

ATTENTION: I will be handing out pacifiers at the next council meeting for those of you who continue to whine on here. If needed a fresh pamper can also be used if in fact you are still feeling some discomfort. Danny I see you are an instant authority on hazmat issues as well! Isn't Google great Danny, it affords simpletons the capability to look and act like they are somewhat intelligent! I love it!

How does 17 years of driving a truck for a living and having a hazmat endorsement and having to do hazmat training every year sound for you.

Face it cory you're just a plain stupid little man. When you know more about what I've been trained on than I do, you crawl your snffly little butt up to me. Till then, learn what you're talking about first. IDIOT.

Excerts from the RT on Danny Stewart…. in his own words!
1.)Deckard, 70, received 1,370 votes, 60 percent to Buskirk’s 495 votes, 22 percent. Victor A. Spina Jr. finished third with 337 votes, 15 percent, and Danny Stewart was fourth with 60 votes, 3 percent, (that’s sad) according to the numbers compiled by the Morgan County clerk’s office.. 60..LOL!

2.) Occupation: Independent contractor for the Reporter-Times, owner of Mineral City Details.
Danny you said you have 17 years as a truck driver delivering hazmat, you deliever papers!

3.)“Now it is time for the next generation to take the lead,” Stewart wrote. “A generation with its own thoughts and ideas. One that seeks a brave new future. And though we know not what that future holds in store, we will boldly seek out that future. A future filled with new opportunities and forward progress.” Seriously, did you get all that from Star Trek?????

4.) “Danny Stewart answers call he hears for mayoral change”….who called you???

5.) “I think Phil (Deckard) has got us started in the direction in terms of economic development. If I am elected, I’ll continue in that direction. That’s positive…..later on you said, He would like to get rid of expenditures for programs that aren’t working. He said the Morgan County Economic Development Corp. would be one of those…Flip Flop!

6.) “I guess the old saying is true. Ignorance is bliss. And believe me, this town has a lot of ignorance.”There is one thing I have noticed lately. Those of your that claim to be the so called social elite, middle of the roaders, intellectual minded people of this rat hole of a town, don't have a clue as to what is going on right under your noses.” Hence why you got 3% of the vote!
