Kudos to the police for not killing this man, I am very pleased that this ended safely for all.

Honestly, I don't see the problem in locking down the schools. The schools carry on business as usual, with no recess opportunities. If anything, it's a more focused environment that literally has no negative backlash aside from the intial predictable panic. Locking down the schools is not an issue, and the staff/students are trained on the manner.I'm quite surprised that our conversation has turned to the "lockdown" and not to our police officers and their safety. It's concerning, really.

My students (children) might be trained on the manner but I can guarantee that it affects them & their focus. After all the crap that has gone on as of late they are freaked out & don't need to be freaked out for what I consider NO reason. I understand that the suspect may have run but he didn't & I think waiting until he is on foot to enforce the lockdown would have been a way better decision. The kids didn't need to be made aware of a situation that posed NO threat to them that is all I am saying.

I talked to my kids last night about the lock down and they said it did not bother their day at school. My oldest said "it was only level 1" and he attended West Middle last year. I think some people like to blow things way way out of proportion.

I agree some people like to blow things way way out of proportion & the schools being on lockdown was just that. I can understand maybe Green being precautious but not East or the MHS. Thats great that your kids werent bothered by the lockdown. Mine are, I have a emotional daughter & I got a text from my son saying "did you hear about the shooting". All kids are not alike.

You'll just have to figure that one out on your own. I'm tired of everyone using my ideas, claiming them for themselves.

Danny, with your genetic junk-pile I highly doubt you had any good ideas, let alone someone using them!
