I question that Ryan Harmon should run. He was dismissed from the Indiana State Police.

Spanky I hope your joking about Charlie Beaver, although he is already running 1 office in the County. Well, maybe his wife.

I agree with "I am watching you". Ryan Harman had total disregard for his position with the State Police and took advantage of his position thinking he was above the law and was rightfully terminated. How embarrasing for the State Police to have someone of his character in their employ. Do we want that kind of person in office here in Morgan County - I don't.
How right you are "Standing Bye" about Mae Cooper. She left office before once - why would we want to elect someone who may or may not finish her term. I say vote for Julie Minton!

Standing Bye educate yourself. Mae Cooper narrowly lost the election against incumbent Peggy Mayfield. Peggy is now opting to run for another office and if elected will be leaving that office without finishing out her term.

Plenty of politicians go on to bigger and better things. I see nothing wrong with that as long as they finish out the first term at the job the voters elected them to do. Peggy Mayfield has done just that. Maybe you could educate me. Did Ms. Cooper even finish out one term before she bailed? And what was the reason? All I know is it wasn't to run for higher office. Thanks.

Greg,
You are correct. He May never answer in a criminal court, but since has narcissistic enough to refile, I intend on seeing he gets an order to appear in the court of public opinion. He has no business holding public office...especially elected office.

I have also learned that he has withdrawn his candidacy. Now he needs to resign his elected office.

Spanky, you wouldn't know humble if it bit your leg.

Do not be surprised if your detective doesn't sue the county. He broke no law. Immoral, maybe. But not illegal. Could have taken the pension money with the agreement that he would not seek legal action, that could be possible.

Unethical... and the Sheriff's Department has an ethics code, I believe. By violating the Ethics Code, he is vulnerable to termination, not retirement.

I further question (strongly) how an investigation can be this involved and still NEVER officially name who is being investigated. If I was a deputy, I would be demanding that a name was given, just so EVERY deputy in the county wasn't thrown into suspicion. All the citizens of Morgan County know OFFICIALLY is that someone in our Sherriff's Department was investigated for something, and the charges were dropped by an incompetent special prosecutor (meaning that if your special, there will be no prosecution). OFFICIALLY, it rings of incompetence, corruption, routine disregard for ethics and rule-of-law, and preferential treatment of corrupt government officials, both by and in our county law enforcement.
