It's the person, not the history, that counts. Rod is more than qualified and would represent us very well. I hope he decides to run and win.

I agree - it is time for a fresh face and new ideas in the Indiana Senate. I'm looking forward to someone outside of the family tree to represent us.

I heard Ryan Goodwin announced today. You all think he is qualified?

Ryan Goodwin announced today? Let's see - a solid conservative both socially and fiscally, great judgment and has served in various elected local offices already. Yes, I would think he is.

This will be an interesting race. Both men are very well thought of. I'm glad it will be a highly competitive contest!

Geez, you think Goodwin would want to finish a term in office before running for another office. Then again, I also hear that he is a big time RINO but then again, I believe most of our elected officials are.

It would only be nepotism if Richard hired his son for a job. That isn't possible in this instance. The people will vote and decide. If nobody else runs against Rod that isn't his fault. You people act like Rod is a high school drop out and a bum who isn't capable of doing the job. That is bologna. The guy is an attorney and it seems if he is smart enough to represent the town of Martinsville, the Plan Commission and the BZA I think he is more than qualified to represent this entire area at the statehouse. Run, Rod, Run! You've got my vote.

Therein lies the problem Ratcatcher. Too many lawyers sitting in elected positions now. We need someone in office that is your regular working class citizen that knows what it means to have the working man blues.

Ryan Goodwin, a political ladder climber. He is about as great as Daniel Elliot. I'll vote for Rod Bray any day before Ryan Goodwin. Ryan Goodwin needs to finish something he starts.

Danny and Confused,
It seems the game has now changed. You both have good points. You can't get much more working class than being a police officer married to a teacher. Then again can we believe he will finish the term or seek another higher office? Will Bray really get in the race now knowing he has a real fight on his hands? Many questions to ponder. I guess we will all have to wait and see how this unfolds. Should be exciting and quite entertaining! I'm looking forward to it.

As much as it will be denied, primary races in most counties are decided in what used to be smoke-filled back rooms. Whoever the political machine selects will be elected unless their pick is an absolute incompetent, and that's not the case here.

If Rod Bray has the desire to serve at the State level and/or beyond, I wish him well. He's a great young man. I hope he can stay true to his idealistic nature and not become corrupted as so many have been.

Ryan Goodwin a social and fiscal conservative? I guess everyone has already forgotten that he supported the Mooresville School project that would have cost taxpayers in the Mooresville School District $200 million. And that he supported a liberal Democrat as a candidate for Mooresville School Board. It doesn't matter that School Boards run as non-partisan. Their core beliefs make them partisan.
