| nobodyimportant Monday, January 23, 2012: 11:54 pm More from nobodyimportant | You cannot limit God's power to change anyone, no matter what label you put on them. If God can create the universe, plant a baby in a virgin's womb, rise from the dead and raise others, who is to say He cannot change the most sick and perverted person? |
| RaynBo Tuesday, January 24, 2012: 6:02 pm More from RaynBo | Will people in this county ever come on out of the dark ages? I am not ill, I was born this way and I am sick of being judged!I am not sick I am not perverted....pedophile I am not. A pedophile is someone who seeks power through sexual perversion with an underage person or as we have recently learned those that are weak. UGH! |
| thumper342 Tuesday, January 24, 2012: 8:09 pm More from thumper342 | Having sexual relations with animals, objects, children, those who do not consent, and those of the same gender, are not only morally wrong, but wrong in the eyes of God. Your belief that beastiality, pedophilia, rape, or homosexuality, can be forgiven by God are correct. Only if the recipient of His never ending love and grace has a pure and repentant heart. As far as sickness goes, they are illnesses that need to be helped and treated. Only with a lot of time, commitment, and the understanding of the disease, can it be controlled. Then and only then can God forgive. You can argue the nurture or nature side for eternity. Simple truth, wrong is wrong. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! |
| nobodyimportant Tuesday, January 24, 2012: 11:06 pm More from nobodyimportant | Raynbo, I know what we are saying to you sounds like judgment and that is not for us. I understand that. Please understand that being homosexual and a Bible-believing Christian are incompatible. We are not in the "dark ages" to be enlightened by a new age spin on something our creator has called detestible sin. God made man and woman. He didn't make variations. I do believe that among the things that can go awry in a person's make-up are hormonal imbalences. But those imbalences do not have to remain. To accept them as "the way I am" is to adopt the sin. That too can be dealt with. As a Christian (and I know that there are some Christian groups who have made the decision to ignore parts of God's Word on this issue), I cannot accept homosexuality as natural and acceptable, thus it is perverted by definition. But the sin of homosexuality is no more serious or agregious than any other sin, so we are all on a level playing field, because we all sin. There is no judgment here, only the love for you that gets expressed by relying on Biblical truth to share my beliefs. I believe that God loves you just as much as He does me. He loves you and me so much that he sent His son to pay the sin penalty for us. Because He did that, we have the means to recognize our sins, turn from them, and walk in fellowship with Him. We are talking about beliefs because we cannot see Him and won't know until our eyes close for the last time on this earth. If the non-believer is right, that is the end. It is over, and we probably should have satisfied our every selfish desire and gathered all the treasures we could use while we were alive. If I am right, I will be in God's presence for eternity and the non-believer will be in everlasting Hell. I don't see much advantage in choosing to live a selfish, self-pleasing life. I hope you come to a point where you can see that you don't have to be lost. I say this, not knowing you, but caring enough about you to at least speak some basic truths in hopes you are open to counsel. |
| RaynBo Wednesday, January 25, 2012: 12:07 am More from RaynBo | Thumper how do you even put these all in the same category. Further more I am very sure that you do not follow all the "laws" in the bible. If your wife cheats are you going to take her out in the center of town and stone her? Surely not! If a child disobeys you will you do the same? Do you eat pork? Do you swear? Do you shave your beard? Do you have a tattoo? Was your wife a virgin when you married? Why is it you can pick out laws to follow and laws to not? |
| nobodyimportant Wednesday, January 25, 2012: 9:18 am More from nobodyimportant | Raynbo, I know you directed your last post to Thumper, but I can tell you that each one of the "laws" to which you referred are Old Testament laws that were put aside when the Messiah, Jesus fulfilled them through His sacrifice for our sins. The Old Testament laws are not to be forgotten and they are not irrelevant, but our salvation does not depend on the system of Hebrew sacrifice for law transgressions. We now live under the new covenant sealed with Jesus' blood. The Old testament laws still provide behavorial guidance. The apostle Paul wrote to his young protege Timothy, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." It is important to know that when that letter was written, the scripture to which he was referring was what we now know as the Old Testament. I encourage you not to go down the road of give and take on this with the position of "if what I do is bad, you are just as bad for other reasons." None of us are inherrently good. Left to our own devices, we will act and do as we please. We all sin and that puts us all in the same boat. There is no ranking order of sin. The sin of telling a lie is just as bad as the sin of homosexuality. But I can't sugar coat it and say, "its ok, I understand." There is a way. Thank God there is a way. |
| thumper342 Wednesday, January 25, 2012: 1:50 pm More from thumper342 | RaynBo, Yes, yes, yes, and no. As nobodyimportant stated," None of us are inherrently good. Left to our own devices, we will act and do as we please All my sins have been forgiven and washed away by Jesus' precious blood. Washed away with the old me. Sin is sin in God's eyes. Having a repentant heart and asking for forgiveness, is essential. Backsliding does occur. How many times you fall are less important as to how many times you get back up. The (same category) you refer to are, as I stated, illnesses that are to be treated and controlled. I was not trying to imply that your battles are any less important or trying as mine. But willingly choosing to continue in our sinful ways, and willingly fighting to control our urges, is what defines us. Old Testament laws are to be studied and not forgotten. And the New Testament laws are also to be studied, so that we can see how much Christ's sacrifice provided us a way to Heaven without all the Old Testament sacrifices and rituals. I totally agree with nobodyimportant. God loves us all. All He asks is for us to believe in Him and His Son Jesus Christ, to truly repent our sins, ask the Holy Trinity to enter into our hearts, to help guide us on our journey home. You take care RaynBo. God Bless You and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! |
