Youth creative with drug use

I have a family member hooked on spice buying at two local stores. He is addicted to that and possible other drugs. As a young adult they have to admit they want help and check in to rehab. Most do not think they have an addiction. Spice is sold for $10 an ounce. It can cost $100 or more to keep you in spice for a week.Where do you think one not working is getting that kind of money? I hope the bill is passed to make it illegal for smoke shops and convenience stores to sell this product even if the name is changed. |
| bob searcy Wednesday, January 25, 2012: 3:38 pm More from bob searcy | spice is 200 bucks an oz and the equivalent of smoking lsd. ever since spice started selling well the government has been tightening the controls on mexican weed. the indiana govt is hauling away the tax proceeds from spice by the truckload, some of it is made in indiana, and it smacks of an attempt by govt to take over the weed industry. the kids are smoking it cause theyre on probation and marijuana will sent them to jail. i hope sen tallions pot legalization initiative is adopted in indiana next year. pot could be grown and sold here and the cartels deprived of 38 bil a year.. the govt is broke? good !! they deserve it for being so ignorant .. |

| AMRFHSD Saturday, January 28, 2012: 1:53 am More from AMRFHSD | Did she say schools should ban water bottles and gatorade bottles? How about soil being banned too? As cannibus canned be grown in soil like food crops , etc......How would she feel if schools banned girls from having a hair-cut like her's ??? I think drug abuse education is hard to be taken seriously by students when it's being preached by a complete idiot, see "reefer madness". |
| A Hoosier Saturday, January 28, 2012: 2:01 am More from A Hoosier | My goodness, if I were a teenager today, I would lose it. Parents are freaks. Talk to your kids, know them so you can trust them. A relationship without trust just ain't worth having. |
| nobodyimportant Saturday, January 28, 2012: 8:28 am More from nobodyimportant | Oh my goodness! AMRFHSD I haven't heard Reefer Madness brought up in 20 years. NORMAL used to drag that out every time they made their case for drug legalization. Who is the complete idiot to which you refer? |
| nobodyimportant Saturday, January 28, 2012: 8:48 am More from nobodyimportant | For years, the debate over drug legalization was primarily between civil libertarians and anti-drug hardliners. Lately, the libertarians have been joined by people just plain frustrated over the inability to make drug use go away. A "drug free" culture isn't possible, because drug use is just one of a whole boat load of behaviors that people have that is self-serving, self-pleasing, and just plain selfish. Drug use works because it is nearly instant gratification, a desired result. But the answer isn't removing the barriers and taboos so that people can just do and have that instant gt=ratification. You would not like the results. Epidemiologists know that drug use is tied directly to availability and price. Make drugs more available and/or cheaper and use goe up. Our great experience with the two most dangerous drugs, alcohol and nicotene, proves that. So, why should we worry about what people put in their own bodies? Isn't that just their own business? Hardly. The consequences of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use has a price that we all pay. I think the federal govenment has gone overboard with the drug crimes determinant sentencing, and that money could better be spent in assisting those who get sick and tired of their drug use, but open the floodgates and grow the drug-using population? Bad idea. Very bad idea. |

| AMRFHSD Saturday, January 28, 2012: 5:27 pm More from AMRFHSD | NI, it's "NORML", not "NORMAL". Or is it ? |
| nobodyimportant Saturday, January 28, 2012: 10:23 pm More from nobodyimportant | I don't know. Anything but normal. |
| thumper342 Tuesday, January 31, 2012: 3:20 pm More from thumper342 | Recently an article came to my attention. It was titled Drug Problem. And I agree with it. In short it states how the author was (drug) to church on Sundays. Drug to family reunions and family affairs. Drug by the ear when being disrespectful to his elders. And drug to the wood shed for a whoopin' when in big trouble. These are but a few of his examples, but I'm sure you get the point. Too many parents allow their children to do as they please, without any thought to the repercussions they may hold. Too much friendship skills and not enough parenting skills. Sure you want your kids to love you, but they should also respect you, and be frightened of your punishments for their misbehaving. Not to say you should beat or abuse, only discipline. Spare the rod, spoil the child. Also too many parents just want to be left alone, in order to do their own thing. Others are too busy working to worry about their children. We should all be diligent about how our children behave, who they associate with, and how they respect others. Back in the day, not only would Mr. Jones, who saw me do wrong, whip my butt, but when my parents were told, they would whip it as well. All I'm trying to say is that we as parents should be more responsible for our children. Teach them young right from wrong. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! |
