Very well stated. The first page SHOULD be used for good/positive news. Hide the bad stuff on the last page or don't print it at all!
I can't believe Wilber or Bob Kendall would have done this either.

I agree with the letter writer in that the timing (New Year's) and placement (front page) of the article was in poor taste. This whole thing reminds me of an old Randy Travis song, Diggin' Up Bones. Sometimes it's just best to let the sleeping dogs lie.

Please do not put a story on the front page because you think it will make me all warm and fuzzy. I would very much like to see the most pertinent articles first. Thank you

A newspaper is a business, not a cheer-up rag.

I agree that our front pages should be focused more on the good things that happen in our community. But, let's face it, dirty laundry sells. As far as the KKK, we need to be informed, whether we agree with the proceedings or not are for us to choose ourselves. I don't completely agree with the KKK but this is America and they deserve the right to freedom-of-speech, just like you or me. I think it safe to say that racial tension is still alive, all be it not like it used to be. I have no problems with any race. But I do have problems with those who feel everyone owes them something, and those who refuse to be decent human beings. And let me assure you, prejudice towards whites is alive and kicking as well. In a lot of ways we are the minority and we have less rights than others. For example, we don't have a White Entertainment Television, or a White College Fund, nor do we have a Miss White America Contest or something similar to the N.A.A.C.P. Could you imagine the upheaval these sorts of things would cause? My point is this. The news is to report the news, good, bad, or otherwise. Bad news prevails granted, but it must still be reported. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
