Ahhh Paragon, The sad part is residents would most likely benefit in an IRS take over. Something tells me The IRS would have opted for a slightly less expensive Police car. In the past throughout the county small towns gained their Police and fire equipment from the larger towns, who were the only Towns big enough to afford new anything. I would venture to guess there were more then a few people wondering why Brian Goss ended up in a new dodge charger rather then a early 2000's model, especially when most the miles placed on his vehicles are not exactly in the town of Paragon.
Having a full time public works team who can be seen kicking back all over town most of the time was also a big mistake on such a limited budget. part time, maybe 2 days a week for one guy, with on-call help available when needed would have no doubt saved thousands. Why not let the IRS take control of the finances? And which tax payers approved paying over 60 G's to prevent that take over? unreal

realinsight has a very good point. Even though the IRS isn't exactly the most liked corporate business, they would definitely be of better use to Paragon than those in control now. As far as Goss goes, his new vehicle was not needed or deserved. My opinion is that Goss and his comrades-in-arms don't do much for the community but be somewhat present. None of them do their jobs correctly. Unless you're just passing through on Hwy. 67 and going a few miles over the posted speed limit. They are very eager to jump on that sort of thing. This brings in extra revenue yo Paragon, gets up their quota, and allows them a sense of accomplishment. The things that really matter, such as drugs, driving unlicensed vehicles up and down the streets at all hours, and other problems too many to mention are overlooked. If the town council members would focus more the real issues instead of their own personal agendas, then maybe Paragon would be a better place for all. I have lived here for over 20 yrs. and have watched Paragon go from bad to worse. And I'm sure that the money to pay the IRS will be attached to our taxes somehow. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
