Considering this guy had some measure of control being in the position he was in, its fair to say this could be the first time she experienced this in her life. Either way, be it by her will or no, she is still a minor, and therefor a victim, and somebody's little girl. It would be hard for me to express or explain my actions following anyone spreading rumors about my teen daughter before the facts were out, its beyond disrespectful to mention her name. |
| sunshine Monday, February 13, 2012: 6:54 pm More from sunshine | Whoever gave me the neg must be a creeper! I mean REALLY! Wake up AND open your eyes & ears to the harsh truths & realities of sexual abuse, why don't you? |
| sunshine Monday, February 13, 2012: 6:58 pm More from sunshine | I didn't mean "I" personally want to know...GEEZ. Def no need to mention her name here...but therapists need to hone in on what led her to do that & then police need to be ready... |
| nobodyimportant Monday, February 13, 2012: 7:00 pm More from nobodyimportant | Well, this got the mayor off the hotseat. Seriously, this is a sad commentary on a man, not the school, not the school system, not the community. Not one of us is so pure as to cast the stones being thrown here. "His sin is much more serious than mine" is what I am hearing. In no way am I giving him a pass. I hope he gets the consequenses that are due according to the law. I also hope he does what we are all called to do, repent, turn from sin and walk the straight and narrow. His life is not going to be judged by how many or how serious are his sins, but what he does with them. |
| scooter Monday, February 13, 2012: 7:01 pm More from scooter | The school board won't be open for anyone to attend. You know that they will just call an Executive session and it will be closed. They did this last month over another issue that was swept by the same good "ole boys. Not to the same caliber, but there were people who cared. Anyway, I hope that all of the people that knew this was going on (a certain Assistant Superintendent and Athletic Director) will be put under a microscope too. I was a student and an athlete in the 90's and believe me this was common knowledge. For those of you that think that it was so easy to "tell", my question is who in the world would one tell? Anyone in a position to tell was in on it and maybe even doing it themselves. He is not the only teacher that was involved with a student, the only difference is that the other teacher was allowed to leave and keep his teaching license and went somewhere else. Guess what...he was also a coach! Imagine that! |
| realinsight Monday, February 13, 2012: 7:06 pm More from realinsight | There is plenty wrong with the school, and because this member of the society works at, and is involved with the school, people who have had to many bad episodes with the school are right to express them! This is one episode in a sea of good ol' boy justice, and parents are right to push for better oversight, someone who has not been in that school since they themselves rode the bus in. And the "School" hath cast many stones before this day, maybe they hit the wrong few people the last few times huh? |
| realinsight Monday, February 13, 2012: 7:37 pm More from realinsight | Speaking of sins and judgement, the lord knows very well my promise the last time I heard Heacock shoot me a complete line of non-substantial bologna, knowing it really did'nt matter what I as the parent thought, knowing his buddies up top would push through whatever he scribbled down and sent through. Anyone with doubts needs to look at the drop-out and expulsion statistics here in Martinsville, maybe putting a little real effort in, and getting the parents and students side of the story instead of just reading the well prepared paper trail Mr heacock so diligently builds. I know the stats, and I've heard elite educators remarking, as well as spoke personally with the IDOE on this matter. Mr Heacock and the rest are going to bury themselves by sticking to many of our kids out on the street for less then adequate cause. Thanks god for the Governor's programs catching at least a few of these kids. Does anyone care about the rest? research it! |
| RaynBo Monday, February 13, 2012: 8:00 pm More from RaynBo | I do not doubt this Realinsight.... they do not care to educate these kids here. The only education they get is which side of the tracks they belong on... and yes I speak from experience. I have been on both sides and when my parents slipped out out comfortable living it became real evident what spoke around these parts. They treat kids whom are poor, different, and disabled like crap. A teacher apparently can have a known fling with a student but students whom are LBGT are treated horribly by the staff (not all, but most), and if a Athlete and what they term a hood get into skiff the hood is always the one thats gets in trouble! I remember I was in Saturday detention one morning (I never did conform) and here comes THE FOOTBALL COACH....talked to the person in charge and then turned around and said come on soso you have practice |
