Old Timer,

What Weaver is refering to is the primary voting. There you have to declare as a Republican or Democrat as Indiana has a closed primary. Who you actually vote for at the ballot box is secret. It's just the party line which you voted is not.

Seems to me that Weaver is trying to be the King of the Republican Party. He is crying because candidates don't have his blessing to run for office. Last time I checked, nowhere on the application to run for office does it ask for Weaver's signature of approval. As for how the vote turned out at the Election Board, isn't it part of Weaver's responsibility to know the voting laws? He is the Republican Chairman, after all. Don't blame the Clerk for your lack of knowledge about the process. Lastly, is it proper for Weaver to be supporting candidates before the primary? He should be neutral but seems to be anything but.

I to think Chairman Weaver is out of control. He allows to let some office holders run with Democrats, in fact walk in parades with the candidate. When new people try to get involved he runs them off. He now is telling people who HE is supporting as if they have to follow suit. I suppose the other candidates for the same office should just quit now, since they don't have his blessing???

A political party is a union. If the leadership of the Republican union desires to exercise control, he can until the members of the union vote him out.

Nobody you are correct. Until the central committee votes differently he will be chair. He publicly announced he will be running again in 2013 in the same diatribe that he endorsed one republican candidate over another and without listing names "declared war" on fellow republicans in Morgan county. From what I could tell people that are not even holding office, running for office or on the central committee. When a leader publicly declares war on their constituents it usually turns out badly for everyone.
