Great article.
The schools share a great deal of the blame as well as the parents who let video games raise their kids.
This always happens in a predominately white school by and too white kids. Some kid is given more than they deserve their entire life by parents who think they're better than everyone else, and this turns into a bully at school. The said bully winds up getting shot instead of getting his butt kicked because if someone defends themselves, the school throws the book at them.

When I was in school, teachers knew who the bully's were and when they saw someone fight back because they'd had enough, the teacher let it happen. This solved the problem for everyone involved.
Today, all school administrators care about is covering their own butt. Discipline both kids so nobody cries foul. This way when the well to do parents kid gets what he has coming to him, the school doesn't have to deal with the well to do parent. Makes me sick.
If they would let the kid who's had enough take care of it... it would be done. The schools have cameras everywhere that they will use to implicate both parties in a fight. But they never seem to have video of the same kids bullying everyone else.

The bully's when i went to MHS in the late 70s were often athletes and sons of some rich or powerful locals. And nothing was done. What the kid done was wrong. But if he done it because of bullying then i know how he felt.
