But you see folks it does not stop there. As you have already seen they keep chipping away at who can own a firearm.Domestic abuse, alcohol charges, drugs.Whats next? I wager you are about to find out. A felon that has done his time and paid his debt. Why shouldn't he or she have the right to self defense and to hunt? |

Looking at the article's account of his history, though, it seems as if this man pays, violate, pays, violates, and on and on. There comes a point at which you have to wonder if he will ever pay and then stop breaking the law. |

Yes I agree if the guy didnt have a lengthy criminal or violent history he should be able to bear arms but if its violent or a lengthy history I agree with nobodyimportant. I think that law needs to be re-written. Is it fair for a guy who has messed up only once in his life and has a felony to not be able to hunt with a shot gun or keep his guns that have been in the family for many of years? No I dont think it is fair. But on the other hand I think its fair for a "frequent flyer" to have that right pulled from him. |

Possibly even a three strike scenario. I agree with Rod1 that "they keep chipping away at who can own a firearm." It's just a matter of time, and how much resistance occurs, as to when all our rights will be revoked. Big Brother wants us all defenseless so that we can be easily controlled. We should be like Sweden. The government provides everyone a rifle at the age of 16, I think. The government trains them how to use their rifle, then it is theirs to keep. Just imagine trying to overtake a country where literally every man, woman, and child has access to a weapon and are quite capable to use them. So in short not all felons should be able to own a weapon, but we must be careful not to relinquish our rights so freely. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! |
| whatever Friday, March 9, 2012: 8:36 pm More from whatever | Actually Switzerland, not Sweden. I think anyone with this kind of record should probably leave the guns alone. Ammo has become very high priced. Load your own. You can own a ton of guns, but without ammo they are worthless. That's another way this government is sticking it to us. |

| A Hoosier Saturday, March 10, 2012: 12:54 am More from A Hoosier | America has 25% of the worlds imprisoned population while possessing 5% of the worlds population. Americans are more than eager to kill one of their own for justice. Barbaric. Fail to follow one of the rules, Americans will find a quick to trip to the pokie. Continue to fail obedience and you could be a lifer, three strikes your out. Insanity. We have no one to blame for our apathy. We allow the continued pressure from the big thumb that rest upon our heads, we justify the oppression in the name of public safety, aesthetics, and common good. What we all seem to forget is simple-the constitution was designed to protect the individual from the government and the masses. Failure. We allow ourselves to be taxed, regulated, licensed, oppressed, imprisoned, fined, and killed. We have given permission to have our liberties diminished. |
