Trustee, board clash over roles

It is like the Governor telling the Indiana General Assembly to butt out or Congress trying to run the country from the Capitol. There are very few real decision that the Trustee makes that does not involve money, and the budget is the responsibility of the Board. If there is an upper hand here, it looks like it is the Board. They have the power to control the money. The Trustee is advised not to get in a pushing match with the people who hold the purse strings. Having said that, for any real chance of this being resolved, both sides are going to have to eat some humble pie and put the good of the public before personal pride of ownership and power. |
