To the point,

I had a feeling you would say something along those lines. As I'm sure you are aware, both of us already knew that answer. What you are leaving out however, is that the funds borrowed from the sewer dept. should never have been borrowed. I believe that is a state rule. Let alone borrowing more money from the sewer dept. to purchase the Rogers block building. Unless the building will be used for the sewer dept., then it is not borrowing the money, it would be a simple purchase.

However, in all this, you are avoiding the point. Then again, since you are a member of the good 'ole boys club, this is not uncommon. It is, in my opinion, for our elected officials, including you, to continue to allow the water utility to operate in the red. To continuosly be borrowing funds from another dept. to keep it afloat without making it a priority to resolve the financial issues of the dept., an irresponsonsible act.

Therefore, I submit, that this administration, nor the council, or anyone else involved in the management of this town, have no business spending money elsewhere, especially expansion, until a reasonable effort is done to resolve the issue.

Of course, let us not forget the mess at the city garage that too must be taken care of. This too must be a priority before we consider expansion.

So yes, to the point, I am quite aware of the many different things that must be done and realize the difficulty in them. However, as I state, expansion can wait till the major problems are taken care of. As I also said, to do so otherwise, would be irresponsible.

You and the other elected officials wanted the jobs. It is your responsibility to set forth a possitive and responsible path forward. You cannot do that by leaving a mess for someone else to clean up.

First of all, as I've explained to you in your earlier rants....I am not a member of "the good ole boy's club"...whoever they are. And, those who know me, know that I am not bashful about speaking up when I have all the facts. Some of your information is heading in the right direction; however, I disagree with you on expansion of services and facilities. If a City only worked on one project at a time, a City would never get ahead. And, again, there are various sources of obtaining income for the necessary projects. And, if you had been in attendance at some of the council meetings that I attended, you would have heard that the council has explored avenues of increased revenue for the Water Utility, both good and bad. At this point, I am convinced that my elected Mayor and City Councilmen are making strides toward positive and responsible answers to these problems. I may not always agree with their decisions but, at least, I feel that I know why they are making them and I try to understand the paths they are taking. Again, by not attending the meeting, apparently you are unaware that monies are being "borrowed" from one area....to be repaid by another area...all approved and recommended by the Redevelopment Commission who are looking out for the interests of the City. I didn't totally understand, and still have some facts to sift thru, but hearing their explanation made it seem more clearly. Oh well, we can still agree to disagree.
