The writer likes Elliot because he is not a career politician. (In fact he has NO experience at all in government.) But at the same time on Facebook she says she can't vote for Johnson for commissioner because Johnson lacks experience! This seems contradictory to me.

At least Adam Johnson filled out his campaign finance report PROPERLY and turned it in ON TIME. Don Adams couldn't even manage that simple task yet you want him managing the county?! Unbelievable.

I believe Daniel Elliott, despite not having any governmental experience, would do a fine job in office. He is genuine and hard-working. And has good values.

Now, Adam Johnson is another character altogether. He claims as his governmental experience the time he spent protesting and raking over the Madison Township mess. How does that make one qualified to hold a county office? Personally, I think he would be great as the Madison Township Trustee. And it would be a great start for him politically. But he's not ready to handle the county issues yet.

And of course you'll say this is contradictory because Daniel Elliott doesn't have experience either. But the fact is he has been working with Ralph Foley for the past year or so as his campaign advisor until Foley decided to retire. Daniel was by Foley's side and was able to learn a great deal about the workings of the statehouse. Add to that he is a small business owner, having been in business for several years, his ties to the local community, father of 4, horse farmer, having been involved with local officials and party leaders for years, and the fact that he is just a good person; well, that makes for a fine candidate for office.

I know many people like Mayfield, but there are many more who don't. And if you want the back story, look at her campaign finance report. Who will she be representing if elected? The 15 or so people in the district who donated to her campaign? The few paid campaign workers who also live outside the district? Or will she represent the insurance PACS, insurance companies, big corporations, and others outside the district who financed this fiasco? You have to wonder where her loyalties lie. The voters will decide who they want representing them, or not representing them.

Personally, I think Elliot would be great on the county council. It would be a great start for him politically. But he isn't ready for the district issues yet. How does being a horse farmer make one a fine candidate for office?

Mayfield is a small business owner also and has many more full time employees than Elliot does and she also has ties to the local community, has 4 children and has been involved with local officials and party leaders for years. The problem you have with her is that she doesn't dance when the party chair tells her to like you do.

Again I ask, where was Ralph Foley and the rest of the party leaders when Elliot ran for county council the last time? I have to wonder where Elliot's loyalties lie. Will he do whatever Ralph and Marto tell him to do? Yes, the voters will decide if they want a party puppet who plays the game or an intelligent woman who can think for herself and continue to reform the corrupt system.

You should be far less concerned with who is donating to Mayfield's campaign and much more concerned with who is and has been donating to Peggy Welch's campaign. By some miracle if Elliot wins the primary he will HAVE to accept money and a lot of it from corporations, PACs, and others outside the district or he will NEVER stand a chance of unseating her. Or would your man be willing to take the high road and refuse such monies?

Funny that you contradict your own name.

First you say you want different people, then you say vote democrat, then you want us to support Adams.

Sounds like another member of the good 'ole boy club to me.

I fully support change, but Elliot is not that he is controlled by the current office holder and the his party chair. So no, I don't believe he will be change at all. I did say vote Democrat, which would be hard for me. I just don't believe that there is a good Republican cadidate for this office.

I don't however remember saying I supported Adams, I just didn't think Johnson was the answer. On the other hand I don't know why I'm trying to explain to a guy who now says he will run on yet another ticket (3rd), not sure you really know what your doing!
