More from nobodyimportant
|I hope the Reporter is on this like fleas on a dog. There's a meeting Tuesday night to intruduce an ordinance for the "adjustment" of water and sewer rates? That's a strange word to use. Keith, did you question what that word meant in this context? Sounds like an avoidance of the word "hike".|
I can't imagine their presentation of data on the need for anything down there. It sounds like they don't have a data system that can be trusted. Their rates are already high, with the "minimum" already over $50.00. This has an odor about it that raises my eybrows.
Brian, help the Paragon folks by making sure their is light on this issue. There are too many good people down their that may just go under if this Town governm, ent, including the water utility isn't brought into the 21st century and with accountability.

More from opinionated
|The accounting process and procedures that the town clerk uses is elementary, and should not be that difficult to understand, in my opinion. The computer system was added just two years ago. Therefore any records prior to two years ago are written on paper, so I have been told, and Debbie Ellis says that it would take forever to find them, "if they are actually in storage". I have repeatedly asked to have a copy of my usage and payment records for the past few years, but they can't be found, (except for the most current 2 years). Since Debbie Ellis began in January, the records have not been accurate and she could not show the exact amount of usage that I had actually used for two months. I have had my share of misunderstandings and dealings with the town clerk, Debbie Ellis. It has been a nightmare to say the least. |
I am extremely unhappy about the rate increase, but I have no alternative, but to pay the increase, or I will have no water or sewer.
Kerry Nash should be given some consideration in his situation because they have not kept accurate records and he should be given credit for what has been paid by his tenants.
Also, Debbie Ellis, Evelyn Zollar and the town board talk about the previous clerk, Vickie not having accurate records, and they have made statements accusing her of not telling the truth. In my opinion, many of the problems were already in existance when Vickie took over the position, and she certainly did her best to try to work with the paying customers on payment arrangements and so forth, so their water would not be shut-off. I do not believe that the people in office today should be spouting-off about someone not telling the truth, and bashing them to everyone in the community. Especially when Debbie Ellis has lied to me personally since she was "voted" into office on more than one occasion.
So not looking forward to tomorrow's meeting introducing the new ordinance for the "adjustment" of the sewer and water rates.
