| Artie Alum Wednesday, May 30, 2012: 1:55 pm More from Artie Alum | I want to say so many things here. This just infuriates me to no end. It's hard to be rational when you hear about things like this. Normally, I would say, "just one bullet", but that would be too lenient of a punishment for this type of situation. EVERY DAY in the news we hear about these same types of things happening all around us. There is obviously not enough deterrence in the criminal justice system to prevent these animals from preying on innocent children. I think the same could probably be said for a lot of other crimes that occur as well. I believe that our lawmakers need to take a serious look at the current criminal statutes and the punishments for crimes and ENSURE we make the penalties severe enough to actually "fit the crime". What exactly should that look like? I'm not quite sure, but I certainly have my radical ideas and it would involve a lot of pain and NOT 3 hots and a cot! I agree with Parent above, this is just sick and it seems like it's happening more and more. |
| Danny Stewart Wednesday, May 30, 2012: 4:26 pm More from Danny Stewart | I realize that we are supposed to be more enlightened, more civilized, in modern society, so think of me what you will. As far as I'm concerned, if this guy is found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law, then I say to hell with civility. He will deserve to have every method of torture ever devised used on him. Continueously pushed to the brink and brought back. Not letting him die, but suffer. Yea, I know. Very uncivilized, with no showing of mercy. When it comes to stealing the innocence of a five year old or any other small child incapable of defending themselves, I am incapable of showing mercy. If that's so wrong of me, then so be it. I'll gladly pay the price. If these,(you can put your own adjective here), are capable of stealing the innocence of a small, defenseless child, one surely has to wonder what else are they capable of. |
| artsandcraftsy Wednesday, May 30, 2012: 4:30 pm More from artsandcraftsy | I'm sure this comment will infuriate some... but what kind of parent brings a stranger into their home around their child? You are your child's protector. Be a parent first, and let drug addled bums find their own way. This wouldn't have happened if the parents hadn't let him in their home. |
| goodness Wednesday, May 30, 2012: 9:32 pm More from goodness | This article has way too many details. What's up with not protecting the child. It would not be hard for so many to figure out who the child and their family is from all the information provided. The details of his actions should not be mentioned. |
| Reality Check Wednesday, May 30, 2012: 10:10 pm More from Reality Check | Probably time for public castration. At least put the fear of somebody in these sickos and make them think twice before they do this crap. Not sure we need pervert details either by the way!!!!! |
| nobodyimportant Thursday, May 31, 2012: 7:42 am More from nobodyimportant | No way should this go unpunished. It is an act of a sick and morally corrupt person. But we live in a country of justice through the rule of law Danny. You may have been using hyperbole to express your utter digust. I understand that. But if we accept your statements like, "to hell with civility. He will deserve to have every method of torture ever devised used on him. Continueously pushed to the brink and brought back. Not letting him die, but suffer", we become no less morally corrupt. Your words speak like revenge, not justice. |
