| turtle Tuesday, June 5, 2012: 12:42 pm More from turtle | I am one of the residents who will be FORCED into the annexation if this goes through. I have contacted my homeowners insurance. It is not going to go down. You should call on yours also. My taxes will increase and I will be forced into water/sewer bills that I don't want! We moved to the country for a reason, and now the city I am not a part of is trying to take more of my money. |
| MarkMcDaniel Wednesday, June 6, 2012: 7:57 am More from MarkMcDaniel | It is pretty bad when the only supporters the Mayor could muster up was two political hacks on the public payroll that don't even live in the annexed area. Its not over folks be patient. |
| jimenicholls2 Wednesday, June 6, 2012: 9:20 am More from jimenicholls2 | I have a document from my home insurance agent that states my home owners premium will be reduced by about $200/yr if a fire hydrant is placed within 1000 feet of my home. Doing this will change my property's protection rating from a "9" to an "8". This savings will only be realized after the "state" re-certify's my area from a "9" to an "8". This will happen about a year AFTER the fire hydrant is installed and operational. Then, and only then will I receive the reduced rate! When will that be!!?? Probably years from now if annexation is approved; but our taxes and fees will go up the first year!! Wake up Martinsville! You are being scammed. |

| adept_hedonist Wednesday, June 6, 2012: 10:07 am More from adept_hedonist | The new fire hydrants that were installed out on Jordan Road over 2 years ago are still wrapped in trash bags...is this the service the city will provide...then we do not need to be a part of the city... |
| moco55 Wednesday, June 6, 2012: 12:58 pm More from moco55 | Mayor Phil: Why aren't the hydrants installed on Jordan Road in use? Two years is a long time to wait. Is this another example of poor planning on the city's part? |
