Ferris: I fed, watered my dogs

These poor animals would have been better off being put down rather than die the way they did. Watch these folks, I would not trust them with an infant! |
| Madalyn Wednesday, June 20, 2012: 1:39 pm More from Madalyn | These two shouldn't be allowed to be responsible for children or animals either one. Lots of excuses for why they neglected/starved the dogs to death, trashed a house and lost custody of their child is all I see. Too bad the Humane Society didn't take his animals before he killed them. I sure hope CPS does a better job looking after their baby. |

| Homecheese Thursday, June 21, 2012: 7:56 am More from Homecheese | I unfortunately know this family and all I can do is say how pathetic and I'm not at all surprised. I just keep shaking my head in wonder at a system that allows them to have one of the dogs back after they starved the other ones! And if their house was that filthy and that is how they treat their animals, are these two individuals able to make wise choices in caring for their child? Still shaking my head!!! |
| martinsville native Thursday, June 21, 2012: 9:10 am More from martinsville native | Nick, 22, said they had not been living at their home at 1897 E. Ind. 42 because the air conditioning was broken. Ferris, however, also disputes the claim in the police report that the temperatures were in the 90s that week and that the house was too hot for the two dogs staying inside the house. Hmm...if it was only 75 degrees, why couldn't they stay there too? It wasn't too hot for the dogs to be inside, but too hot for him? Sounds like he needs more time to get his story straight. |
| Perplexed Reader Thursday, June 21, 2012: 10:49 am More from Perplexed Reader | Bob, how do you know my concerns about homeless? I am concerned about anyone in need, but feel strongest about children and animals that cannot express their distress, or get shoved aside as not having rights like human adults do. I am glad to hear a voice speaking out for the homeless on here, but being homeless would not be an acceptable excuse for allowing this type of treatment for any living thing. |
