Sorry to say it, but this will be #24 that goes on the shelf.

They have the unemployment rate at 7.8%. That's the "official" rate. In actuality, it sits at around 11%. The difference comes from the underemployed and those that have just quit looking and are no longer on unemployment. Neither of them are counted on the "official" rate.

As for some of the prospective markets. Mooresvilles logistical rate has been steady but low for about 5 years. The reason any logistical movement is due to the Flagstaff business park. Then there's the forestry aspect. The state finished logging the forestry last year. So did most land owners that did do some logging. So that aspect is already gone for another 20 years.

As for the goals. It won't happen, at least not in the southern part of the county. I know this because I know of one organization here that tried these things and only the chamber wanted to try to put something like this together. Everyone else said no.

As for new ideas, that won't happen either. Why? Because they won't get out of their niche to try and find people that don't think the way they do. For them, you must think like them or you don't matter.

Sorry, but this was just another 20,000 down the drain as well as a waste of time. Oh well, at least it was private money wasted and not taxpayer money.

Oh, and for those of you that think I'm just being hateful and cynical, I'm really not, I live in the real world and I've seen the results of their actions over the last 30 years. All anyone of you has to do is take a look around. And I mean look. And not just in one place.

Anyways, almost forgot.

The outside advertising, good idea, but again, it won't happen. It's an idea brought up a few years ago. It was abandoned for two reasons.
1. It was deemed too expensive.
2. It was and is still believed that growth would come from eithin because of some statistics from out of state.

Another reason none of this will work is because of smart elick comments like that. Too many of you are stuck into believing only certain people are intellegent enough to think about this stuff.

Finally, a group of non-money grubbing non politicians coming up with a reasonable plan that does not fleece the taxpayer by annexation. These guys have good ideas and are not force feeding us like Obamacare or worse yet, DeckardCare!!!!
