So this should give some mid-state conference teams a real shot at winning a state championship.Decatur Central will be one of the biggest schools in 5A now. Wont have to beat Center Grove who has an enrollment of 2366 compared to most that was in sectional 7 of well under 2000 kids. Martinsville was at 1661. Cant wait to see how the new sectional line up will be. Not this year but the start of next year.

Boy did the title of this story fool me. I thought the Artesians jumped up to Division 6 after reading the title.

Martinsville is a big enough school to compete with anyone. In the late 70's and early 80's they for sure did...I can think of two games where the Artesians battled to the end to teams that won the State Championship in the biggest division in the State. One was Carmel and the other was Castle....maybe they should just compete with schools that don't start with "C". Ok that is a bit silly, but I don't find the size of the school to be the problem. The Artesians finished the regular season start strong last year and let's hope they keep that momentum into the 2012 season.
