Another black eye for martinsville, of course deckard said the tassing was done to protect people, just how can you be a threat when your hands and feet are tied up? If she was that bad why wasn't she given something to calm her down.We are becoming the laughing stock of Indiana.Does anyone agree its time to ditch the whole city government and start over?

The last comment of the article had nothing to do with this incident, in fact the officers in that incident were investigated and it is OVER. Rumors, trash, or simply anything bad sells papers. It is just the trashy way this paper is run. This had nothing to do with the Martinsville Police Department.

Did they really need to tase her? This is so sad to think full grown men could not handle the situation different.

“He was working as private security, on his own time,” Deckard said, “not as a member of the city of Martinsville nor the city police department on our time.”

Guess what the Mayor is saying is he doesn't care how his officers act off duty. What a shame once again the mayor and his Gestapo give Martinsville a black eye.

"Townsend turned in his hospital badge, stating that he was quitting the hospital job because he didn’t like its Taser policy."

In other words,
I just want to Taser everbody I don't like and this policy is not Taser Friendly!!!

Let's put him on the MPD where he can taser some kid in a day care.

It does seem Mayor Deckard spends a lot of his time explaining away actions of his police dept. Look out annexed citizens the next taser is for you.

Tomcatt, the Mayor's attitude towards a "contractor" is EXACTLY what's wrong with this country. Let's "privatize" everything. To the public this means not paying union wages... What it REALLY means is the money saved by privatizing goes into the pocket of those who make the decision to privatize and we're left with a "sub" contracting company who pays people unspeakably poor wages. This leads to the hiring of people with no loyalty because they're treated like crap. What you get is a situation like the one in the article. Why would this guy feel like "dealing" with the patient when he is payed so little? And why would the mayor care when he can say " he was working as a contractor"? Everyone who works for a company and has good pay and benefits thinks contracting out or privatizing sounds great... because they don't have to live that way.
