Smart move, but I'm sure it won't take long to twist this story of prudent leadership into a "they hate America" mantra.

Good call, Martinsville. Too bad Mooresville won't use wisdom and make the same decision. It is TOO DRY for any fireworks no matter what safety precautions they take.

A shame but necessary. Wise call.

I am disappointed was really looking forward to Wednesday. But it was still the right decision.

I grew up in Martinsville, and can honestly say that the fireworks show is the best I have ever seen. If it is not safe, the of course it should be postponed. There are plenty of other ways to celebrate the new year. Safety first, should be the way we think every day of the year.
