Horse training methods disputed

The fact that the horse was standing tied and saddled with no food or water means nothing. Any horse that is being worked is going to have to stand tied sooner or later. I doubt that the horse had been saddled for days. Horses, like humans, will lose weight when they are being worked hard. The horse in the photos is not under weight. The sores are certainly a concern and I would think they were caused by ill fitting equipment. |
| rebels rider Wednesday, July 11, 2012: 5:36 pm More from rebels rider | I have to say this is all lies about the abuse on the horse called slick a buckskin. I was at Mr. Papp's the same morning of this so called abuse. I have my two horse's boarded there and they have gained weight since Mr. Papp has had them. Slick was saddled while I was there brushing my horse getting ready to ride. He had not been saddled for days or tied up with no food or water as I saw him being taken from his stall by the worker to saddle the horse. Another worker went in to clean "slicks" stall and I seen him put fresh water and hay in the stall as my horse was tied to the hitching rail right outside of the stall where I was getting ready to ride. There was no sores on that horse when he walked by me, because I would have seen them. I decided to watch for a while to see how far the horse had come. Mr. Papp usually was out in the arena working the horse when I came in after work to ride my horse's. I know for a fact if the injuries happened on that day it was from the horse bucking so hard and how the guy riding him didn't get hurt is still hard to believe as the horse started bucking as soon as the guy hit the saddle and flipped completely over on his back, Mr. Papp told the guy I dont know his name that they would leave him saddled and let him calm down while they went to lunch and they would start out again with ground work when they got back from lunch. The one picture up close you can see yellow medicine in it making it look a lot worse than it is, also that could be a picture of any animal and a wound always looks worse and more swollen the next day or so. I was there on at least a couple of the visits that Vicki made and she seemed happy with the training she was always laughing and cutting up with Mr. Papp. I have never seen any of the animals abused at Mr. Papp's and I'm out there two to four times a week depending on my work schedule. Lies like this is what ruins peoples reputations. All it takes is one lie and really how can this newspaper print this with no proof just he said she said?? Shame shame on you Vicki!!!! |
