I just can't understand why these girls that have ran for queen 3 years can't just give it up and let some new fresh faces in there, obviously if they have ran 3 years and haven't won then it's not for them. GET A CLUE!!!!!

Hunter, maybe they enjoy getting to be in the contest. Maybe they enjoy getting to be with the other girls. Maybe they enjoy many things about it! You know there is more to it than just winning! I admire the ones that don't win, but come back. It takes courage to know that you haven't won, but still want participate. And again, there is a lot more to the Fair Queen Contest than winning.

This contest brings out a nice group of lovely young ladies each year. Many have strong 4-H backgrounds and know the fair inside and out. They have given upwards of eleven years of their young lives to a portion of the fair and wearing a tiara and sash is a great way to end their tenure. It's all about involvement and pride. Let them enjoy their lives. At least they aren't in juvenile court or worse.

Tomcatt68, Obviously you must be related to one of the girls that just can't give it up!!! Time for them to move on and let someone else have a chance at it!
