Mr. Townsend is a good officer. The public does not know what really happened with the taser incident. Do not judge unless you were there. Thank you Mr. Townsend for being for being who you are!!! I wish all the officers have the compassion and caring for our community that you have.

Tomcatt it seems you don't read or listen to an entire story when told. If you would have paid full attention Mr. Townsend was not happy about using that tazer it was a manditory action put in place by the employer, and it upset him so much he quit that job. To me that is a respectful man. With the economy the way it is today and with the pay our police officers get to protect us they have to have a second job sometimes to make ends meet (thought I would put this in there before you said something ignorant regarding him working a second job).

MorganCoLvr, it seems your statement doesn't make sense. As per his (Townsends) former employer's Taser policy, "The Taser will not be used on any subject who is currently re-strained or poses no threat to staff or others". I believe the victim was restrained both hand and foot in this case.

Instead of the taser, he shoulda just used Duct tape to shut the irate patient up or they should have sedated the unruly person. Easy.

If I speed in martinsville, I'll be wearing my rubber suit so that if I get tased, it will not hurt me.
