I sure wish the resident raising these questions would have printed his name because I have an $85 water bill due to the City of Martinsville by the end of the month that I would gladly let him pay, since he thinks he does so already. Guess I don't need to pay that since we "do not pay for one single penny".
I understand the resident is upset because some of the councilmen have decided to have minds of their owns and not go along with the plan, but think how those of us in the proposed annexed area feel having absolutely NO REPRESENTATION in the matter! We did not vote for those deciding our future, we cannot vote on the matter at hand, and we will not be able to vote for council until these people will most likely be out of office. That is a little upsetting!
All power to the councilmen who are listening to "this bunch of complainers" rather than the very small population that is for this plan. According to letters to the editor, the "complainers" seem to outnumber those in favor.

We're complainers because we're fighting the forcible loss of property rights. OK, I'm a complainer then.

Thank you Mr. Arthur for doing the right thing.
