Hey Rat....

So.... Should I assume by your statement of stopping by Mayfield's booth, that you also stopped by Welch's booth and hear what she has to say also? Or that any of the offices up for grabs that you have given fair consideration to "all" candidates? Or... Am I correct in assuming its going to be a straight "R" ticket on your behalf?

Do you have an honest moment in you to answer truthfully?

My dear Sunny,

You should not assume anything. My honest answers are as follows:

I have NEVER voted a straight party ticket in my life. Yes, I lean Republican but I have voted for libertarian and democratic candidates in at least 4 elections that I can remember. I would be more than happy to vote for a dem/libertarian/independent candidate if I liked him/her especially if it would replace certain county elected officials. I claim no loyalties to the county GOP or the (cough) person (gag) who currently chairs it. I vote for the candidate I believe in and trust and it doesn't matter to me what letter they have behind their name. I prefer not to put party robots in office.

I have been to at least two forums to hear Peggy Welch speak in the past few months and I was not impressed. I feel ok with myself that I gave her a shot. Two actually. I find her to be wishy-washy and someone who will go along with the party instead of thinking for herself and doing what is right for the constituents. Prime example is her trip to Illinois. Mrs. Mayfield, on the other hand, has bucked the local establishment on more than one occasion to do what is right and I believe she will do it again. The fact that the chairman of the county GOP endorsed another candidate in the primary proves that and was icing on the cake for myself as well as many other voters.

Why not? I don't want to hatch and feed a bunch of chickens. Besides, I like my political eggs scrambled.

I've met Welch and shes ok but she's had her turn for the past 12 years. Time to go bye-bye.

You must mean the Grand Poobah. Sunny the fact is that the Grand Poobah known as Col Weaver has not showed one ounce of support that I know of for Mayfield in her campaign against Welch. I heard the Democratic vice chairman singing praises for Welch.

Please think about that in light of who really is the party person in this race?
