Council approves annexation plan

Our fanatical fellow bloggers never cease to amaze me on how the take a viewpoint and spin it to their own twisted sense of reality. Some folks can't see the forest because of the trees. By the way, I like Regurgitate, vitriol, libelous, and such. For your next post, dig further into the dictionary please and come up with some new material. These are becoming boring. Sounds like I'm not the only one under "Satan's attack here" Hypocrite! |

The absurd personal attacks are becoming more and more venomous. I repeat your words -- you say I twist them. Truth is a difficult commodity when you are on the wrong side of it. Hypocrite, Stupid, Uncomprehending, Fanatical -- What other derogatory names have you called me? I can't keep track. All the while you hide behind anonymity. One thing is for certain. I would say the same things to you personally, in a polite way as I have here, as I say on this forum. I doubt that you would have the courage to speak to me personally the way you do here. Anonymity unleashes the ugly underside of the human psyche. Keep it coming. Thanks. |
| Sunny Wednesday, August 8, 2012: 10:25 am More from Sunny | Yes it is a difficult commodity when you are on the wrong side of it! You see this is why you can't deal with illogical people! Nothing of your posts toward me have been polite. You say people that know you...know better. It dosen't take a physch major to understand you. The biggest difference between you and I is that I'll admit that I'm a smart a**! I have no patience for B.S. |

You must be running out of patience with yourself, then. Now I'm illogical. Amusing indeed. |

This simply isn't true. For example, let's suppose that Mark McDaniel decides that he wants to put up a new shop to support farming operations in the newly annexed area of his property. Or, let's suppose he desired to begin hog farming operations in that area. Or, let's suppose that he wishes to subdivide his property to create building lots for his kids or other relatives. Guess who he has to come before to get approval. Mr. Eric Bowlen and the Martinsville Common Council. Do you suppose for one second that any of these uses of his property will be approved? Of course not. First he opposed them on this annexation issue. Second, those uses are not consistent with the "vision" the council has for Mark's property. You see, even though they don't own it, they are already planning for industry to locate there. Therefore, the only use they will "allow" for now is agricultural production. It's easy to bulldoze corn or soybeans under, but not so easy if they've allowed these other uses. So, no. Mark and the other property owners don't have control of their land. Eric Bowlen and the Common Council do -- for the common good of the collective. This also limits their options for buyers if they should want to sell their land. This reduces competition for the land thereby reducing the potential price for the land. The council wins and the property owners lose all around. I have had a good relationship with Eric over the years. So it pains me to point these things out and I will probably lose a friend over it. That's the nature of the truth sometimes. I am using Eric's name because it has become clear that he is the prime motivator on the council for this annexation and he is the current council president. Ross Holloway is the other prime motivator, though he is not on the council. He merely pollutes their thinking with his misinformation. Fire away... |
| Sunny Wednesday, August 8, 2012: 11:44 am More from Sunny | Aye, I can hardly stay in my chair at times! You're one of those people that are caught red handed on video tape, yet deny it's them, and same for the guy that wears his Purdue Jersey on I.U. day. When people say things that run counter to common sense to satisfy their irrational points of view than that is the essence of being illogical! Fanatics also demonstrate no tolerance for other points of view. I'll listen, but not accept something that is a flat lie, or runs against historical, proven reason! Astounding! :-) |
| Sunny Wednesday, August 8, 2012: 11:49 am More from Sunny | OKAY RON!!!! HENCE WHY I SAID...... "COUGH EMINENT DOMAIN COUGH". I FORSEE MANY A COURT BATTLES TO COME! For the love of all that is Holy..... Yes while the council has influence over the operations of property within the city limits..... I believe the deciding authority is the planning commission, and its regulations it has to abide by according to state law. Next! |
| Sunny Wednesday, August 8, 2012: 11:58 am More from Sunny | I did forget to mention that prior to annexation.... They more than likely couldn't have got such things approved... That was the whole point of the buffer zone. |

| jimenicholls2 Wednesday, August 8, 2012: 2:13 pm More from jimenicholls2 | As i've said many times, by definition those that make false accusations and name call, behind a fake name, are irrelevant to the debate. You wouldn't be able to debate anyone in public if you were wearing a mask or sitting behind a screen, would you? Grow a pair. |
