Nice editorial.
I'm confused. I thought all or most elected officials in Morgan county were Republicans? Is this no longer true of the town board? Eminent domain and government takeovers are something Democrats do. At least that is the way it used to be. I'm sure the voters in Mooresville will remember just as the voters in the annexed areas of Martinsville will remember come election time. As long as some good independent/TRUE republican/tea party candidates step forward and willingly jump into the cesspool that is local politics this county might stand a chance someday of being something other than the punchline for a joke by people living in the donut counties.

The American Water Company was being discussed on CNBC yesterday (8/15) as a way to play the drought market. I believe they said the company profits are up 17% and expected to continue to increase in value. Mooresville residents might want to find this conversation on the CNBC website and reseach what was said and how it might relate to them. I wasn't listening very well until I realized it was the same company running the water utility in Mooresville.

So, if the town of Mooresville "Forces" the American Water company to sell, I am assuming it will be an adequate accessed value for the infrastructure currently in place? The initial purchase of this would be at the tax payer's expense as well, unless receiving state/federal grant money. I know several people in Mooresville and they say they haven't any problems with their water.
