“Transparency”, Obama style. Way to go! This will be great for the confidence of the voters in you and the process.

Anyone want to bet that the person selected by the secret commission will NOT be someone new, fresh? Someone NOT connected to the little machine?
This is tongue in cheek…I don’t gamble; but if I did, I would bet it’s Trout or someone similar.

BS! It's closed because too many people are after Weaver and he is afraid of getting his face messed up before his party Saturday night.

If it's chosen by who has shown continued interested and concerns for the city of Martinsville it should be Trout or Badger. It's not going to be an easy road regardless of who is chosen.

As for it being a closed meeting, it appears they have the right to do it that way especially if the public has presented problems in the past.

Ratcatcher you seem to have a lot of bitterness for Mr. Weaver. You don't like him, we get it. I feel it's wrong to hint that there are people that would like to assault him. Did you not get invited to his party but wanted to go?

“I’m not required for it to be open,” Weaver said. “I’m not doing it anymore.”

Obviously the Grand Poobah wants to be replaced at the end of his term next spring. Anybody have any ideas for a replacement?

Moco55 I was invited. I don't think the invites were under his control. If I were to show up I am certain he would turn me away at the door. Just like he did Peggy Mayfield after Dan Coats aide personally invited her. It must be a sad life to wait by the door for whomever you want to turn away.

The mayor/council had an executive meeting during the annexation meetings just for Trout because he didn't agree with the financial plan. So the city paid the financial consultant and the lawyer to come and explain it to Trout. Why did he not have to ask his questions at the public meetings?

All the noise over the closed meeting should cease. This is a caucus of a political party. They don't have to have open meetings. When a party caucuses, they don't invite the opposition. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a caucus. Learn when to pick ypour fights.

I feel it's wrong to hint that there are people that would like to assault him.

I wasn't hinting. It is a known fact. Ask the uniformed officers that were at this year's Lincoln Dinner (for the first time ever) why they were there. Ask most of the GOP insiders to tell you the real reason why GOP golf outing was cancelled and why there have been no monthly breakfasts since April.

I feel it is wrong for a man who claims to be a christian to call another man a coward and an enemy inside a church in front of a roomful of people (including law enforcement officers) but refuse to talk to that same man privately one-on-one about their differences. Who is the coward in that case?

It is time for Dictator Weaver to leave. I don't mind if it is a private meeting since only Precinct Committeeman can vote. I do however disagree with him contacting his picks to file. His picks have been off for sometime. He always has plenty to say in front of an audience, usually very wrong. I also agree that he doesn't like the face to face thing at all.

He has done more damage to the local Republican party than any group could have done. His leadership, or the lack of, has been a total joke.
