While I agree with Pascal on I-69, I feel that I must point out that government exists and is funded by TAX DOLLARS! Where do you think "government" got the money to build the roads, sewers, etc.? From TAXES, which the people and businesses paid to the government as a result of their labor, and investment in their businesses. It is only through the payment of TAXES on individuals and businesses that "government" can fund anything. So business owners have a right to say to Obama et al, I built that, because without their efforts, and the tax money, there would be no government funding to build the roads, sewers, etc.

Would someone please explain to me why it seems that "we americans" fight every piece of morality, values, and common sense that this country was founded on? We have gotten so far off the path that we are just about truly lost forever. Iran does what it wants, we turn our back on Israel, we want to cut defense spending, have energy independance, (while we refuse to drill at home) and want to argue till the cows come home about same sex marriage. Let's not forget we want to use public money for abortion. At what point in time is it okay for people to say this country was established on certain principles, if you don't like it, please move. North Korea would be a great place for a starter home.

Factual Data, that fight began before, during, and since the founding of our country. We can get our thinking all screwed up by imagining that this country was at one point moral on any set of standards. This country may appear from documents to have been founded on moral principles, but any student of colonial and 18th century America has to chuckle at that notion.

Man has been morally bankrupt since the garden of Eden. We didn't redefine man when this country was formed.

We cannot look to government for morality. It begins in the heart of each person.
When and if we ever get a plurality of voters following Christ (not just Christians on church rolls and/or sitting in Sunday pews, there is a chance for the country to have moral leadership, but I'm not convinced that it would occur even then. Corrupt men and women will follow money and power and it seems that good intentions become corrupted when those things are attained.

Does Morton Marcus interpret economic principles with socialist ideology preference
or Capitalistic preference. It seems he wants the government to employ every one?
