As a parent of students in the Martinsville School System, I'm curious how often these drills are practiced and when they were last updated? I'm sure that these would be public record however, when I contacted the administration office I was told they weren't available. I called the number listed for Mr. Rollo which is listed with his picture on the school's website however, it rings in rather strangely and no one ever answers.

As a parent of a Martinsille High School student I praise the practice of safety drills monitoring entrances and exits, however, has anyone been in the parking lot when school lets out? This is a dangerous place when you have buses, student cars and student pedistrians all trying to navigate at the same time through the busy lots and adjoining streets. I've wondered why there isn't more effort to control the traffic of buses and student cars in the parking lot as well as exits to city streets. It literally takes 15 - 20 minutes for the parking lot to empty at this time. I am truly surprised we haven't had any injuries and or accidents in the parking lot at the high school. I think the adminitration needs to take a look at directing traffic in the parking lot as well as the exits to streets at school dismissal time.
