While I was impressed with Ferguson's interview, I find great concern relating to his statement, "he won’t make immediate changes". Is he not aware that no one board member can make changes, but rather are simply 1/5 of an entire vote?

I also find great concern relating to his statement, "Martinsville has had major employers leave the town". I'm find great concern with this statement because his family had a part in this with his grandfather-in-law serving as mayor and his father-in-law serving as a city councilman.

While I mean no disrespect to either candidate and certainly wish our students, school system, and community to achieve the very best candidate to serve, I find great concern that neither of them have proven themselves through service to our community rather simply promises of what to do, "IF" elected.

These men have certainly been active in their community, and have provided their time and energy in serving. Good luck to all!

He also ran for City Council not long ago. I understand that Home Bank likes their employees to be active in the community so I'm wondering if that is the push for him to keep running for elected offices. I don't feel like he has the maturity yet to take on this position. Maybe in a few more years he would be a better candidate. Besides I know he has a small child and this position should be one where the member should be visible at many school functions.

I have a problem with his statement of doing something-regardless of the cost! To many today don't remember it is the taxpayers money they are spending. Do we need another Deckard in public office, we didn't the last time he ran.

Conservative - then you won't want Brad Wilson either. The ONE school board meeting he attended he made a comment that he didn't care what it cost the taxpayers just so he could stamp Wolf's file as terminated. He seems out for blood and I don't want someone with that kind of motivation making decisions for my children.
