Cathy, the basis for your letter is quite weak.

Since Mayfield has four kids in the public school system in Martinsville I doubt anyone can seriously argue that she doesn't have PLENTY of motivation to care about education.

I voted for Mayfield because I believe she can get it done and will not drive to Ill like Welch and other democrats did. You stay and fight

You make some very valid points and I am in agreement with less government intervention in Education, Business, Family etc. The role of government should be to protect our country and its citizens. I think it starts with parents and community members taking a more active role in the schools. Government is legislating the testing and setting standards. Whether Mayfield or Welch is elected, we, as citizens, need to fight for excellent education.

The facts tell the story all day long...the public education system is broken, and it is rife with corruption, social engineering, intentional dumbing down and secularizing/brainwashing of children.

If you want to learn the truth, start by listening to Mrs. Charlotte Iserbyt, the former #2 at the Dept of Education.

Makes you wonder who the "change agent/s" in the MSD is/are...
